+1 for that wish - even though it won't be save game compatible. Is there a hotfix incoming? I'm having the same 'working a natural wonder' issue that appears to have been addressed.

There's an option when you're saving the game to save the map. You should be able to load a new game to the saved mapI rolled a very interesting creation of the world. Is there a way to 'recreate' it with 5-17-2 when it drops?

I always felt the AI was a little docile early game on deity. On this play through of the Stable Version I easily spammed three settlers as soon as I adopted tradition. All with 1 warrior, 1 Archer and 1 Pathfinder. My closest neighbors Ethiopia, Korea and the Ottomans all left me alone. My three units were also well away from the city making trouble and gaining XP from a city-state. Just as I was starting to feel the pressure I was building Spearman and no longer fearing the Horsemen building up at the borders. The new version is off, at least on Deity. Difficulty increased. AI is more aggressive early. Wonders are also going much earlier. University of Sankore went turn 89 or 90. Not good mouth feel. Seems like war is the only option.
Unfortunately that's not so easy and some of the trouble that we were discussing in another thread about setting up custom scenarios. But how do I start in the same spot in the world? I do 'set up game' -> 'select map' but then get randomly assigned.

I think my issue with Barb's is I play crowded maps. I practically never see one and if I do they are absolutely no threat. But yes it's true I did not check raging barbs this game. I wanted to get a glimpse of what it was like without it checked. Which basically means you don't see them at all. But I typically always check it because I never seem to fear themI take it you are not playing with raging barbs on, as even on lower levels you need a few units around to take them down & settle cities.
Yeah in fact I'm probably not realizing how much it would have made a difference to have at least escorted those settlers. I suppose with raging barbarians there probably would have been one popping up. Four early cities with tradition eventually paid off big time...I take it you are not playing with raging barbs on, as even on lower levels you need a few units around to take them down & settle cities.

From reading others' experiences I feel like Raging Barbs on or off actually has less effect than crowding and maptype.
Yeah even when I did used to farm barbs with raging on they didn't seem to be coming out all that quickly... I would expect a "raging barbs" option to be generating a unit every couple of turns from the camps. It wouldn't hurt if it did exactly that. Then the raging barbs could be a good option for people to experience them on a crowded map. Sure it may not be for the faint of heart. But even warriors can take out the early barbs pretty easily. From reading others' experiences I feel like Raging Barbs on or off actually has less effect than crowding and maptype. I don't play with raging barbs but the barbs are consistently a military challenge for me on Oval-like maps, they're one of the main factors constricting early expansion and the bonus against them is a surprisingly big deal for Authority.
