I start reading beforehand when I REALLY want to do well with a nation. :D Right now I'm reading up on Nappy III's personality and the state of the France in RL, as its pretty comparable to this timeline's France.

I still have alot of room for improvement, but I certainly know how to wheel and deal like a major power. ;)

Plus I have the added pressure of Insane Panda's phantom hanging over me. He has taken France to places I can only dream *sigh*

So what's the estimated ETA of the NES again?

So I can't take the Byzantines? Oh well.

I need someone to vouch for me. Anyone? @_@

I think bombshoo approved you but just incase...

I'll vouch for you. Despite you being a dirty, no good, cowardly Greece in the beginnings of TWTUD :p

[..] you being a dirty, no good, cowardly Greece in the beginnings of TWTUD :p
I was really ashamed of that. Thus, I switched IC personality and turned into the over-brave Super-Commie Greece, with determined resolution to bring communism to the world (which, as we all know, failed miserably--I have a feeling that it had something to do with the fact that the USSR was using hordes of militia instead of, say, tanks, but then the amount of industrial capacity placed against us was really insurmountable).

Well, can I be Polish/HUngary? If not, please assign the nation you think best for me.

OMFG!!!! Fine, how about Empire of Japan? Just assign me to a moderate, if noty very powerful nation. Can you do that for me, bombshoo? I'll complian if I don't like it and give you another nation.

As long as you don't break your keyboard again, I also vouch for FC

SP, Bomb has already told you the nations you CANNOT have

Sp, no offense to you, but I'd prefer if someone with a bit more experiance took GB. If it's not taken by the 1st turn in the NES you can have it though.

That being said, these are the seven super powers which I think a considerable amount of playing time (3 monthes and 1 long NES atleast) is needed for.

Great Britain
Byzantine Empire
France
German Union
Polish-Hungarian Commonwealth
Empire of Japan
Timurid Empire

This still leaves a good dozen or so moderate powers that anyone can choose from, and if you want a challange some weak ones too.

As for the alliance system, its not entirely figured out yet. Whatever I decide on, it will be logical but leave lot of room for maneuvering however.

sp...take Spain or something. A moderate power on the downturn where there is no way to go but up. So if you accomplish anything you'll look like a genius :p

SP, look at myself. I am taking a tiny nation because it means I can make big changes without naffing up other players game.

What nation would you experienced players recommend for me.

Claiming the Northern Italian Republic.

So I can't take the Byzantines? Oh well.

I need someone to vouch for me. Anyone? @_@

Even though you already have several vouchers.

I vouch for him since he would make it easy for me to unify Australia and take Egypt from his infidel hands. :p

I would vouch for flyingchicken, but my voice is not one of weight.

I too will vouch for flyingchicken, he is a skillful NESer and one deserving a chance at a high position.
