From events? WC events? And yeah, like I said, I need to test the value more, so this is good. Probably 10% over 5 turns would be fine. Not 'elegant,' but functional.

5% over 10 turns would probably be better. It's quite possible that it doesn't even need to be that heavily nerfed, maybe 7 or 8% is fine, maybe 10% is fine and I just suffered a game of apathetic AIs that sucked at culture?.

Anyways my report stands, in that one game I tested, 10% felt like slightly too much.

Maybe it should be, in any case, 10% of the AVERAGE of the last 10 turns, ala Great Scientist bulbing... or is it already that way? Doesn't sound like it.

As an anecdote (or maybe not?), I ran two full AIAutoplay games last night to make sure I was fine with 11-17, and both ended before turn 400 (which I never saw before in CBP), one in 388, the other in 339, both with Culture victories, way earlier than could be granted by the tourism only mechanism. Maybe that is a clear sign that the new values are a little too much, especially for civs that are not even shooting for CV?

Gotta say, the game is running incredibly smooth, though. And now that city growth is calculated differently, I'm dealing with much less self-doubt and the headaches that come with it. ;)

Played for a while with 11-17 yesterday. Build seems very stable, no bugs encountered. AI still spam-DOW each other however - yet not a single DOW on me.

Teach me, sensei, I'm at war with everyone pretty much non-stop :D

Keep CTD on turn 1. Is it my additional mods conflicting with the latest version? Was working fine with previous versions.

Tourism is still way overtuned. I was somehow able to win a cultural victory in the beginning of the industrial era. I wasn't even working for it. :(

Your screenshots are so small that I can't read the words. I'd make a post over in the mod compatibility thread instead of here - they can help you find out if the mods you use are compatible or not. A good rule of thumb is to try it with just the CP stuff, and then add new mods in one at a time.

What do you mean differently?

Keep in mind that I'm blind:
CPP stuff (with EUI compatibility)
Events and Decisions
Meaningful city state colors.
More Luxuries
Neolithic Wonders
One-Color Civs
Wonder-Race

Keep in mind that I have no idea what most of those do.

Regarding tourism, I just won an easy cultural victory in the year 1520, so I agree it should be toned down a bit.

Guys on what difficulty are you playing? Because Im playing on immortal, on the previous previous version, and with cultural victory focus on my part I still dont have an easy time winning, although now on atomic age it gets closer and closer, most of the civs converted to Freedom now. Attila, Polynesia and the civ that get free GP every now and then, got a good lead on me on culture and army. Im with 4 cities the whole game, never captured never declarer war, although people declare on me regularly. Early game I snatched a looot of wonders, so Im sitting on top of culture and science score! Actually I felt like converting 25% of your culture isnt that good, especially if my tourism output cover that in a turn or two, not to mention trade routes that procs tourism only after 30-40 turns(Playing on Epic).

The thing with the new culture to tourism conversion ratio is that it's roughly twice as big as it used to be in the previous version. Given that you produce n culture per turn you used to get half of your culture output per turn worth of tourism, which is n/2 tourism per historical moment. Now, however, it's 10% of the amount of culture you've produced in the last 10 turns, which equates to n*10/10 = n tourism per historical moment (assuming your culture output per turn doesn't change). You might not be feeling the elevation, but it's definitely there.

Aww what? When were forest / jungle plantations reverted? My latest game's starting area is suddenly pretty terrible now that I need a lot more tech than I thought to improve tiles.

Like half a year ago? Welcome back :D

I see. Were bananas buffed at least? I seem to recall that prior to jungle plantations bananas were pretty awful. Making the plantation wasn't really any better than just leaving the jungle+banana tile unimproved, and they prevented all other improvements.
