NHL 2006 Playoffs

I haven't seen a single Oilers game this season before the playoffs (Canes-Oilers didn't meet in the regular season) ... but the reports I'm reading are saying that the Oilers played uninspired and not up to their usual ability ... can someone who watches them more often comment on that?

The reason for that was they had no confidence in Markkanen. Now that the Juss showed them he's good they should play good again. And yes they didn't block nearly enough shots and had no heart. The Canes won because they had this. The oil will bounce back they won't let the Stanley Cup fall out of their grasps so easily.

I would not bet on that .... the Oilers are a different team when they play in Edmonton.

Markkanen is stopping everything ... but Edmonton has got to play some defense, Carolina is just swarming--and their defense has been pretty damn good (every time I turned around in the 1st period the Canes would get a penalty).

Great game tonight, Markkanen played an excellent game in goal, but the Carolina Defense refused to surrender.

It was the Carolina defense that stymied Edmonton all night, especially during the power plays--not just Ward.
