It's just that no hockey city has a team that the Canes haven't whupped
yet, thus the Cup resides in Carolina. :p

I bet that there was someone that beat Carolina in the seasons series, thus they haven't whupped everyone. :p

I also proclaim the curse of detroit, every team who beats detroit for the last three cups has been eliminated in the finals.

What were the final pool results?

One of the best regular season teams after playing good all year, picking up
some veteran help, goes on to win the Cup :goodjob: . Give them their due.
Try not to be such a poor looser.

Leave it along, dgfred. These are the same sort of people that think only an Original Six team should even make the finals. They'll never be happy.

Unlike us in Carolina, HOME OF THE STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!!!!

I refuse to recognize any team from the southern US. :p

I refuse to reconize any team that is not from Montreal :p

No need to take it so seriously. I just dislike teams from non-hockey climates.

All things said ... the cup is in carolina and we can't do anything about it.

 Congradulation Carolina!

It would be less sour if they did not bully their way through the series :p
:joke:

As much as it pains me...I must congratulate them...but we'll get them next year...and their little dog too! :p

As a neutral observer, I believe the best hockey club won. Mind you, I think they should have won in 6.

And I repeat a point I made in another thread, a long time ago: I don't understand this suspended allegiance business. If teams other than the Sens compete for Lord Stanley's Mug (which has happened EVERY freakin year since inception) I can't get worked up either way. But I can get worked up by a good series, which both Edmonton and Raleigh gave us.

And as far as I can tell, the Hurricanes fans were boisterous and are becoming very sophisticated indeed. Great display by both teams and their fans.

:hatsoff: the Oilers for their inspired play and 'never say die' attitude, especially after loosing their #1 goalie. What a tough bunch.

Now I just have to get over the shakes of seeing Pisani flying down the
ice with the puck and the devastating checks of R.Torres, the man is a
beast.

My only regrets are that R.Brind. didn't win the MVP and Weight didn't get to
finish up the season playing. Recci also was a big addition to the team and
my daughter's favorite player.

I always cheer for someone, even if I don't care at all about the two teams. I can't really help it, I'll always end up cheering for someone if I watch.

boo whalers! you had the better team, you deserved to win, but c'mon now, the cup belongs on the greatest ice on earth. i'm a bruins fan, so alas, i have no team.... i root for anybody who can prevent the words "mighty duck" from being etched on the cup; then i root for anybody from canada except the canadiens (because of course i'm a bruins fan).
