Non-Nazi Pope Attacks Energy Industry!

I might have a pretty bad opinion of religion, but this Pope has been overall pretty great, and certainly the best in many, many years.

Good job man :goodjob:

Looks like this Pope hasn't learnt from the Galileo affair. He is again going to be on the wrong side of science, just like previously.

It's amazing that this Pope claims to be about the looking after the poor, but with this he is removing the one hope that gave rise to our rise out of poverty, cheap energy, but now the poor will suffer greatly unde this misguided attempt to please greenies.

He should advocate energy gleaning rights for the poor.

Well, given that the poor haven't yet consumed their portion of the buffer, they should still be allowed to emit for awhile. It's those who've emitted their portion of the buffer already who need to draw down their emissions rate.

Given that you are persistently on the wrong side of science (and militantly so), I might actually be persuaded to accept your long experience on this matter.

I'm pretty sure that this pope is an atheist in disguise. Just wait for it, when he resigns, he'll be like - 'Surprise suckers, I'm actually an atheist'.

If that happens, please announce the thread with the Robot Chicken version of M. Night Shyamalan screaming "what a twist!"

It's a little stunning that we've chosen to summarize a 184 encyclical with a couple headlines. I betcha there's a lot in there.
