NotW LVII - Tempus Fugit (game thread)

So desu ne! Wakarimasu desu.

I can't change my avatar until Lohrenswald dies. But my avatar's cute enough, so Askthepizzaguy's advice will be followed. Autolycus, defend yourself!

wth, Zakku-kun, doing that to me?

Do you have N0 peeks for seers in games here? like, can I expect bsmith was killed as an attempt of seer hunting?

Bsmith votes Pizza, removes vote, saying it wasn't serious. Says Tak is never normal(which I'm sure was just a joke comment/fluff). Votes for Autolycus, asking where he is at.

"I'm not moving off Auto. Won't be around till after the end of day starting now."
is his last post.

Since he called no one town, and his vote on ATPG were only a joke vote(he claimed that himself), I'd say that looks bad for Autolycus, assuming it could be seer hunt.

hmm okay

@ATPG can you confirm this?

Night zero peeks probably have never happened even once on this site.

Probably never happened on my native site either.

Probably never happened on TWC.

I can't speak for GITP or DM, but probably rare on DM and probably nonexistent at GITP.

Night zero peeks are more of a 2+2 and MU thing.

True seer isn't that rare but they've fallen out of favor in recent years because they suck.

I can attest to only being caught by seer, if at all, for quite some time in the early days.

I see, thanks.
So when n0 peeks isn't a thing here, it's more of a level question, if scums would kill bsmith to make autolycus look bad, or because he was correct(but that just seems a bit silly, considering his vote didn't seem to be based on anything else than bsmith not saying anything, meaning bsmith could just simply say stuff, today, and at least that part wouldn't be a problem).
I think it's faily null, in regards of getting an idea of his alignment.

Probably more worth to look into how votes developed on the wagons, while of course also looking at Autolycus' posts(I recall he had almost none, anyway I'm reading thread now, so I'll find out)

Also, today is International Kitten day, so it's a double-happy Caturday!

Can do.

x-post edit: bawwwwww, not even one picture of Kamaboko-chan?

ATPG: How confident are you that Autolycus is scum here? Would you bet your life on it if given the choice?

Are you making some kind of threat, Newyn-san?

Not threatening Pizza. If Pizza is confident enough in his read on Auto, I'm going to consider taking a (crazy) leap of faith.

I see, thanks.

I think BSmith was killed because he was being town-read, or because he was a low-poster, having been scum enough times to say that's usually the motive, looking for someone who won't be lynched or who might have a power and who isn't going to be the super obvious protection.

However, I feel it's much wiser to look at who people voted for than to look at who the murder was. It usually leads to more accurate conclusions that aren't as much of a wine in front of me situation.

The villagers will have been voting for people they genuinely believe should be voted for, which means most of the votes are honest.

The murder could be straightforward, random, or a pile of WIFOM and it's difficult to see a pattern from it. Like unless as I mentioned last phase a claimed cop never dies, even with a dead doctor-like role, there's little to be learned from the murder other than X was townie.

Sometimes it's because they were pointing at a scumbag, but usually the mafia doesn't immediately feel under so much pressure to murder them that next night, and usually they wouldn't consider a day one vote to be that much of a big deal to be afraid of, unless they were also accusing a mafia while voting for a townie. I could see that as a way of subtly removing a potential voter of a mafioso without it mostly ever leading to knowledge of who a scum might be.

However, if nearly getting a mafioso lynched, on a train that is almost completely just townies or perhaps completely just townies, it is probably wise to murder off random members of that wagon because they're all not about to be lynched anytime soon, after that person gets lynched.

So it could be either one. In any case I think given the way people were behaving yesterday, one of the four candidates was scum.

I don't think it was Lohrenswald because reasons. Could have been Jarrema if not Autolycus.

ATPG: How confident are you that Autolycus is scum here? Would you bet your life on it if given the choice?

No, never. This is pure wagonomics and the fact that Auto is not acting particularly townie.

He's also not acting particularly unusually for him, so this is shooting in the dark based on assumptions

A) that we had significant votes on a scum yesterday which given the late high levels of activity, usually indicates

B) I'm probably right about a bunch of my townie reads actually being townies

I also don't necessarily think the persons deciding the vote against spaceman and over autolycus, if auto was scum (or lohrens, or jarrema) are scummy. I think it's definitely not worth it to make the deciding votes there, those guys are townies. Zack and Lohrens.

Amend 317 to read "might have a power" as meaning a significant enough power in a game like this.
