NotW LVII - Tempus Fugit (game thread)

Vote: ATPG :mischief:

VOTE ATPG for his nizzle opening post

Honestly fos: atpg

he promised "30 minutes or less" and took 31 minutes

Vote: ATPG
because you should always tip the guy who delivers

Hm. It's past time we started playing, too. I honestly don't have much of a feel for this game yet, I'm dreadfully busy, but insofar as I can tell there's a few people with two votes and no real pressure on anyone.

Unvote; Vote: ATPG. Third vote on you. You've posted a bit, a seemingly joke vote on choxorn but you do mention that you intend to lynch him with it. Do you have any reason to push him or it it just random? And if it is random, do you have any thoughts on the rest of our players?

^
Started out funny, now it's getting into obviously wrong and unproductive.

Get off me.

Eh. Maybe I'm dumb, but I don't know what your OP means. Other than that you have a role of some sort, which... well.

I'm willing to switch if you have any good ideas as to who might be worth pursuing.

Unrealistic expectations alert.

What exactly do you expect me to produce here?

Smart idea to do next is to unvote. Who you vote after that, not really my concern.

Game is on EZ mode for me, and yet I'm not valuable enough role-wise to care about openly advertising that fact from square one. Don't scan me, unless you like getting previews about upcoming villagery dead bodies. I will vote for the first person to vote for me each round, because if you can't tell this opener is Order-ly, you fail Notw forever. Carry on!

Doesn't really mean anything it seems.
Could easily be mafia banter for all I know

Well, what do you think about Takhisis today? They had 3 votes on them for a while, so that'd be about as close to pressure as we've seen. He seems to have thrown around a bunch of suspicion without any real focus insofar as I can tell. Have you played with him, do you know if it's normal?

Yeah. Unvote: Pizza. My vote was never serious.

Takhisis is a mystery to me as he often plays for lighthearted humor and unseriousness, and I can't recall a game I played with him in recent memory where he was a trying hard kind of townie serious about solving it.

I am not sure, I took a long break from playing here so someone else might have more recent meta. I never quite got the hang of Takhisis and I said so recently in an off-board chat amongst fellow cfc'ers.

I have played many games with him but he's about as readable as someone who doesn't post at all imo.

Hm. So you don't think we'll get much use out of trying to pressure him?

Unvote; Vote: Cuthillius

Hey Cuth. Do you feel like anyone's openings have been artificial in nature? I don't expect anything as obvious as my OP in the rapper game but seeing other people's viewpoints on these help.

Yeah. Unvote: Pizza. My vote was never serious.

Yours and Lassie's votes didn't concern me and seemed villagery.

These next two votes can be from villagers but there's really no reason for such a bandwagon to form and indicates to me that we're not really thinking about where we're placing our votes.

I'm not an "innocent child" role but I am a role which has about the same level of always-being-murdered-ness. And I made that plain in my opening post.

If you guys want to make me claim, day one is a pretty silly day to do it.

I thought I was helping us out here by making it really easy to deal with my slot but apparently I overestimated my team. :crazyeye:

Hm. So you don't think we'll get much use out of trying to pressure him?

I would read him (and most unreadable players) two ways:

1) Who he wants to lynch
2) Who wants to lynch him / doesn't want to lynch

Reading his actual posts for tells is a waste of time imo but someone with a better handle on his meta might have an idea I haven't thought of.

Obviously the above methods mean you have to leave him alive to see what he does and what others do about him. I don't think he'd respond especially strongly to pressure, all you will end up doing is force him to claim.

I wouldn't bother going that route unless you're trying to lynch him based on actual suspicions. Otherwise we're just revealing what cards we randed.

Some info is fine but too much out there is more useful to mafia than town.

Tbh I don't understand what you're saying

Spoiler :
Certain roles are inherently better for town to resolve by allowing the mafia to take shots at them.

Early game claimed doctors, early game claimed cops, early game claimed masons.

If those roles survive to the late game after having claimed, there is grounds for suspicion, if those roles claim very late in the game, there is grounds for suspicion, but if they are who they say they are, they will get resolved by mafia murders.

Other roles which are similar but not quite as crucial are roles such as the "innocent child" which is essentially a solo mason that can be revealed at any time simply by PMing the game host. Someone claims innocent child early on, you generally allow for the murder to take care of them.

You can go against those ideas if you suspect they're lies, because sometimes they are lies.

I used a tracker role in a different game to that effect, I used it to track Zack every single night, which would verify his whereabouts and my own, and use the power in a manner which is fairly useless to a mafia team, essentially forming a masonry between myself and Zack. I was quickly murdered off.

I am none of the above roles but I have a similarly easily confirmable active role which must always be eliminated by the murder, or the mafia have bigger cojones than I do.

This is as plain and simple as I can explain it. I am honestly baffled I needed to, but there's a day left in the round and CFC is notorious for having people not move their votes on day one.

tbh I skipped your opening post because you always make a post like that to start off

I think it's unrealistic for people to glean you are an important role from it

Huh, seems a bit early to panic for some joke votes and talk about claiming role. There's 1 day and 5 hours left on the vote timer.
Such early role talk, and hint of later claim, is usually a towny sign though.
Unvote ATPG

liking spaceman88 for his #22
he's asking Lohrenswald pretty much what I just asked him too

also, gut feel is that Lohrenswald could be a scum trying to dumbtell by saying "curious" to the part of OP stating who has died and who is just not alive.

Vote Lohrenswald

Spaceman pointing out the thing about the scum team being necromancers, as an explanation to Lohrenswald, is something I like a little. Scums are usually cautious and not interested in looking like they actually know things about their own team. So that Spaceman does it in his first post, looks good to me.

not that it's worth all that much at this point, but I doubt lohrenswald and cuth would be scum partners, based on Lohrenswald's reactions to Cuth's vote and the post he made after.

Hm. So you don't think we'll get much use out of trying to pressure him?

Unvote; Vote: Cuthillius

Lohrenswald for his whole thing, I'll elaborate in a separate post

Golden for random post and then coming back in and making a very fluffy post.

DuffKilligan for unexplainedly hopping on a wagon. (admittedly may be standing otu to me because it is a vote on myself, but eh)

Al Sipsclar for being the third vote on pizza for no reason, either.
