NotW XXVI: Children of Kylorin (Game Thread)

The Orc speaks with her soft charmable voice*

Although I much agree as anyone else would that an orphan should be the one to get the gold here, but what if we gave the money to a merchant like Pinman. We could help the small economy we have in this town by allowing Pinman to buy more merchandise which he could sell to us. Not to accuse the orphan of being rich or anything, but how do you know that he didn't have a rich inheritance from his parents or any where else.

The gold from the night’s victim’s flashes before the dwarfs eyes, but gold has no hold over him. ‘There are far better things that can be got from the ground, if you know where to look’ the dwarf mutters quietly to himself. Raising his voice “Surely no merchant is in need of more gold… As others have pointed out Nictel the Orphan seems a good option but tell me young one what would you do with it? This place is already unsafe, without adding the burden of gold.

As the accusations flew back and forth, one voice rose above the others from the merchant's caravan "Oh now, it looks like we've got our first sale! Would the fine gentleman who purchased the dagger please come forward!"

OOC: Silly question if I may, when is the deadline?
48 hours from the update.

I would like the gold, perhaps so I may purchase that fine steed over there. However, I cannot decide who we may need to kill today. We need every man we can get, yet nothing has come up.

The orphan has a big smile on his face, just the fact that people want to give him gold makes him feel warm inside.
The orphan likes dwarves. If only that they do not tower over him that much as the others.
He looks at the miner.

"Well mister I would save it, I could perhaps buy some new clothes or a book. There are a lot of scary things around but I know a place to keep it safe and I can run quite fast!"

And you feel a merchant who has managed to become broke is someone who can help stimulate our economy? :crazyeye:

Never trust a merchant asking for your gold when he's broke.

The Bard comes from his hut, after hearing his name shouted out a few times.

Sorry about that everybody, slept a little late. I remember there being many tales I have heard about before in similar situations. I remember nine clearly, and others are a little bit more hazy.

The death of the shaman is truly disturbing, and the presence of wizards here also scares me. We clearly have at least two groups conspiring against the innocents here. I will make an accusation later, when my mind is clearer.

The Bard returns to his tent, composing a new song in C Major.

The orphan runs over to the Priest and hides behind his back he sticks his head out a bit and points his finger at iamwlrs4 the Student.

"Bully!"

Stuck in Pi. Orphan, what do you mean by "bully?" What did he do?

The orphan is almost in tears.

"He was mean to me, he always teases me and kicks me around."

The Dwarf considers what the young orc has said. He seems wise enough especially for a young one.
“I agree with some of the others, the orphan would be an appropriate person to receive the gold”
The dwarf is disturbed by the orphan’s accusation of the student and he leans in closer to the young orc and wispers.
“if what you say about the student is true and you do received the gold, make sure you keep it secret & safe but you shouldn't accuse the student though, if he hangs it could be you fault, I would hate for you to have to shoulder a burden like that.”

"Hold on a moment, Champion, are you going to give up our only lead so easily? I distrust the quiet ones as much as anyone, but if the Shaman truly told you to investigate the Priest in the case of his death, you shouldn't give up so easily. And if he didn't tell you to check out the Priest, as the Priest's own testimony would indicate that he had no reason to, then why call out the Priest in the first place?"

The Champion peers around to see who has said his name, and when he sees it is only the young apprentice, he smiles widely. A misguided young one, in need of assistance. His favorite sort of person, next to travelers!

Well, young man, it is quite simple. One only requires the proper mindset, you see, to apprehend the master plan! Athletics are just the thing for sharpening the squishy gray matter. Do you lift? You should, you know, you look a bit mushy around the middle. I can give you some tips. You stick with me, you'll go places, this is just the way I won my first town championship, what was it, twelve or thirteen years ago? Let me tell you about that day ...

He drones on, his arm firmly across the younger man's shoulders. The apprentice looks panicky, but no one seems inclined to come and rescue him.

Well then, with the Bard's silence broken, there is no reason to lynch the bard at this time.

I withdraw my accusation against the bard.

OOC: Just in case you missed that I striked out vote against the bard...

I withdraw my accusation against the bard

The whore lavishes up to the champion and the apprentice, sharp eyes making contact with the champion's and body pressing up against the apprentice.

"Don't listen to the babbling airhead...if you want some advice, I've got some in my tent.."

(Coin to Pinman)

While those coins may be shiny and pleasent to look upon, the Golem decides that perhaps coin is better in the hands of Pinman the Merchant. Though they are quite nice to look at...

As for who is slaying the little ones...the Golem does not believe that an even smaller little one called "bully" could be the beast.

The Hunter emerges for the first time today, looking rather pale and shaky. It seems that one mug of dwarven ale was one mug too many.

Oh, my head... I'll never touch another drop, I swear.

What's going on here then? More deaths, is it? But one of them a villain? Well, that's good news I guess. Pity about the Shaman, though.

And I see there's some gold up for grabs. Well, I suppose I could take it. Just for safekeeping you understand. You won't catch me spending it on dwarven ale, that's for sure.

Clarification on the Gold thing: The life savings is mainly just a way to explain where gold comes from. The gold is a lump sum of one gold and will be every turn (unless somebody dies with gold in which case all their gold will be a lump sum of the correct amount and there will be one other gold for vote)

So do the lifesavings of the two people that died last night each go to the same person?
