NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

CCRunner yesterday would have been fine, too.

Okay, we got our first rogue, thanks to Rhawn for the kill. It came a little out of the blue, but can't complain.

Now, about the minefield... "I told you so", doesn't exactly sum the way I feel about the route we took. I get so mad when my ship gets damaged

CCRunner you're ignoring so many things, like you've never explained what you do at night nor what the item in your possession does. As I've said, I think it's easily possible that key could allow you to hack the security system, at the very least the reason for part of your access wherever, if not to break out the brig itself. The latter seems unlikley but realistically we can't counter it.

If you would give me back the Decryption Key, now, this morning, then by Midday maybe we can shift to Frozen or another top suspect (or Camikaze could be a lead too, I grant we haven't heard back on that)

May I have ze pistol? :p

Dear Earthling: I have actually said what I do at night. And I've said what the item in my possession can do... Want me to quote the exact post? I've been able to go anywhere since before holding the key, as Autolycus and Renata can attest to as I told both of them the first day. Being able to break out of the brig is to ridiculous to even warrant a response... just in case you're to blind to see it, that would completely break the entire mechanic which I highly doubt even you think BL would do. Honestly, the only thing I've been ignoring is you.

As for giving you the key... go play in traffic :)

No, you haven't. You've claimed a repair ability which is a rank ability; all you've done is been vague and uncertain. You could be doing anything as your personal ability, unless your only personal ability you claim was with the Nuclear Reactor, but that's still terribly suspicious and a copy of what Nictel's job actually was.

If you're Innocent you clearly have nothing to lose by cooperating, I'm just saying, otherwise you will die by sunup tomorrow. That's final.

I do think we (so it'll be me, because again others have been unwilling to be public leaders in the right way) owe the crew some explanations.

1) Zack had a tool, that disappeared as he didn't have it when he died. Methos gave it to him from a crate. I don't think that makes Methos guilty, it was too early and Zack probably just said he did repairs. But we're missing a tool I believe.

2) Zack was responsible for repairing the missile systems. Anyone else involved looks Innocent, but Zack of course was a Rogue, refused to repair the Aegis BEFORE we got attacked, and then silently worked his way in to get both the Aegis and the offensive missile systems activated (which the rogues probably desperately want).

Hope that clears some things up for the crew as the above issues were lingering out there.

Also, I'll have nothing to do tonight, a promotion couldn't hurt also as I don't like we have inactive sailors (ie. Niklas, TheLastOne, etc...) in repair positions as Chief Warrant Officers. Or I could take the pistol, I'll put myself forward for that for now.

OOC: Need a Kraken smiley.

"It's had a taste for Rogue's blood ever since we tossed Chandrasekhar and Nahkarma overboard."

I've already spent time in the brig with no change (well, actually an increase in damage and killings),

TFA was still alive back then, which accounts for the damage. As for the killings, the gun-killings have followed a really strange pattern, and I'm not sure if we can use that as a way to find the gun killer(s) on nights people were in the brig.

More importantly, you are, by far, the most likely to be a saboteur among the three who were in the brig last night, CCRunner, so I think the damage going down is quite damning of you.

At the same time, another one of those 3 might be a Rogue. rhawn, who did you scan last night?

Earthling, repair isn't a rank ability. Well it is, but it's only a modifier to it. I have a base repair ability, and a modifier due to my rank. Hence, I am able to repair.

Saboteurs took three actions the night I was in the brig. Two direct damaging things, and planting the bomb that went off during the party. Last night there was one. TFA being gone accounts for one decrease, but not the other. And rhawn has already stated he scanned me as not being able to kill anyone.

I am happy to take the pistol and lock it away in the armoury. We need to reduce the amount of weapons kicking around if you ask me. As for who to put in the brig, I have heard bad things about CCRunner.

Aye, we finally got a rogue, good job Rhawn! I had my reservations about taking the mine infested path too, but we seemed to do fairly well in it.

Now, I would like to ask why everyone is suddenly ganging up on CCRunner. Unless we somehow got new information about him last night I fail to see what suddenly brought so much heat onto him. The fact that there wasn't more activity last night makes me suspect Camikaze and Earthling more.

Camikaze appears to be a murderer.

Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!

Well, in that case, let's execute Camikaze.

Going back to Night 2, CCRunner does seem to have a point, but I still think he's a bit suspicious.

You mean, like how Darth Caesar was a murderer?

That's why I used the word appears. Yes he confessed to being a killer. I'm a killer too but I'm innocent.

Let's give him some time to explain himself then. There's plenty of pressure votes here. We might be able to get him to do a full role reveal to one of us.

Sure, I'm all for that, but we're going to have an execution today, and it'd be pretty hard for him to give a case against being scanned a killer. I mean I'd still be ok with going for CCRunner, more likely a saboteur at this point and we are in this minefield, but I'd switch to Camikaze to ensure an execution, no doubts on that. As for a role reveal, I doubt any traitor would really go for that, if anything we're encouraging some other saboteur/rogue to contact him and try to work together, unless we got someone to go pretend to be a saboteur to try to talk to him, and we all know how much trouble people pretending to have someone else's job or role can cause right? ;)

It doesn't seem like you locked the last rifle away yet, from yesterday's vote, perhaps that's worth doing first?

That said I will be fully honest - if I get this gun and it grants a vig-kill or something similar I'd definitely be going after somebody tonight, especially as I won't have my own ability to use. So don't vote it to me if you wouldn't agree with that, sure. However I'd vote it to another Innocent (as in, probably a bandwagon to Renata or something, most of you folks claiming it for yourself aren't getting it) for self-defense or strength or whatever rather than locking it up.
