Luzon Taken
Manila, The New Japanese Empire
The New Empire of Japan has launched its bid to rebuild its empire with an invasion of the Philippines. First hitting Luzon, the Japanese were welcomed by a brutal and well-prepared Philippine Army. Though Japanese air superiority would cover the disorganized landing as best as it could, Japanese vehicles did poorly in Luzon’s more jungle terrain. The Japanese navy has wiped out the tiny Philippine navy, preventing large scale reinforcements for the defenders, but the Filipinos are more than capable of holding their own, while the Japanese are dreading the thought of continuing this island campaign.

Mozambique falls to African Federation
Maputo, African Federation.
Citing a ludicrous claim that Mozambique was harboring western mercenaries to keep the people in line with western interests, the African Federation quickly launched an invasion of the country. Wiping out the enemy air force and sending paratroopers north to delay any actions, the African Federation quickly overwhelmed the border to capture Maputo. Still shocked from the initial invasion, Mozambique’s military was in complete disarray, allowing for African troops to seize Beira without much resistance. With the fall of Beira, Mozambique’s remaining troops were forced to surrender, and now the other African countries look at the Federation with worry, wondering who next will be accused of “harboring western mercenaries”

Nyanza invades Sudan!
Khartoum, Nyanza
Citing the long standing oppression of the Sudanese government over its people, Nyanza has launched an offensive to crush the warlord regime. A fast and intense mechanized assault drove towards Khartoum, with paratrooper units going ahead to disrupt the enemy movements. The Sudanese fought hard, but were eventually driven from the city due to the heavy armor of the Nyanzan troops. The Sudanese troops attempted a holding action to preserve Port Sudan, and though the fighting was intense, the Nyanzan troops were eventually able to overcome the Sudanese defenses, and with the fall of Port Sudan, the remaining government of Sudan opted to surrender.

India crushes Nepal, Bhutan
Kathmandu, Republic of India
Seeing an opportunity with the Chinese preoccupied in the north, the Republic of India has determined that both Nepal and Bhutan would be easy targets for annexation. These peaceful countries, though with a small military, were able to use their mountainous territory to their advantage. The First Gorkha Rifles, though composed of marines, acquitted themselves well in combat, though the President’s Bodyguard had more difficulty, especially with vehicular breakdowns. The lack of air support also hampered the Indian troops, but in the end they were able to prevail, though there has been grumbling that casualties could have been reduced.

Though President Lun has insisted that the debt is manageable, she has faced opposition from all sides, each seeking to increase their own political power. For their part, the Chinese citizenry are willing to wait to see if Lun can fulfill her promises.
