The few survivors made it to Ganes. Their news of the massacre was most unpleasing to hear. Tellathiel raiders looted the High-King's gift on its way back home and killed most of the carriers. Tellathiel raiders killed Tortans to gain more money. Zentosh would have been so angered if he was not already on his way to Haeeae for conquest and glory. The news slowly reached him at the front as the gates of Dolonde opened before his army and allowed him a swift conquest of the city.
The Haeeae were not powerful, but they were a tough nut to crack. Their raids into southern Tortan and the defeat of the garrison at home were annoying at best, and Zentosh could not deal with the dishonor in the north. While fighting against the Haeeae finally Zentosh's heart cave in to his old age and he fell upon the ground. The entire noble force left the battle with the body back to Dolonde and from there the body was taken to Ganes for royal burial.
Looking at his father's funeral at the much older and wiser nobles, Vulu, the new lord, now named king, promised to follow in his father's footsteps of bettering the state of Tortan. He will continue the Gilded Web of his father's planning and will march north to demand honor and fear in the name of the dead carriers. He will become the first king of Tortan in this era of chaos and will make sure Tortan will do well. His father taught him well. He was sent to the best fighters to train, best houses of learning to study. He will do well.
Back at the palace at Ganes, Vulu found a large pile of papers his father wrote seemingly preparing for his death. He was after all, a very old Orc. In the papers he wrote in secrecy for Vulu about his thoughts for the future of Tortan and of the royal family. He spoke of a pure blood and great expansion to all direction. He spoke of befriending the youngling at the throne of the high king, and in later papers he wrote how Vulu must move Tortan's royal blood to become the next high kings.
Yet for his father as well, deep within the writings, Zentosh wrote to Vulu to go north and punish the raiders and their lord. Demand fear, and if it is not given, take it with force.
from Tortan
to Tellathiel:
Your so called unholy peace keeping have caused the deaths of my people and the theft of my coffers. I demand 20¤ to repay for the deaths and stolen good. Pay this or suffer the consequences of all-out war.
to Haeeae:
Peace has been reached. For now. Dolonde is now a port that belongs to Tortan. Refusal to accept this would bring only more chaos upon your lands.
to Nallviel:
My father has been somewhat harsh with his words, but even after that friendship has been built between our clans. We hope that this could continue even in these harsh times. I will expand the Gilded Web to Indoron as soon as it is finishes within my borders. Let us hope the pirate menace will ease now that I intend to build a fleet and aid the ports of Idhren's Bay.
to Kaanak:
Such chaotic times are upon us and I am looking for a fine bride for myself. My father requested that I will marry only an Orc and only of direct royal blood. Will you aid me in finding such a queen? (

)
to my vice-lords:
The Tellathiel have dishonored us. Now that a port has been gained in Idhren's Bay and friendship with the Lady of Nallviel we must go and punish them for the deaths and theft they have brought on us! A war must be fought on those elves, and fear they must be taught.
