NutraNESIV.6: The Dread Kings of Ekra

Right, I've added the missing events and corrected the results by adding fear points to where it was necessary. Please do notify me if I have missed anything.

Stats will all come tomorrow!

The unintended effect of spending a large portion of your income on a wedding...

hbar.

I'm going to be asking you some questions on the Grey Doorsmen.

I'm just as perplexed as you. Though I'm probably in a better position to take advantage of a shadowy cabal of criminal masterminds (for once) :mischief:

Oh no, you don't. Stay off of Western extent [pimp]

Nutra a question, did any of the higher ups of the Cult survive the destruction of the capital?

Nutra a question, did any of the higher ups of the Cult survive the destruction of the capital?

Hmm, that is a pretty important aspect that I should have up in the update: Nope. All the Cult high leadership burnt to cinders or are missing, but the cult has always been quasi-autonomous locally and so is not as terribly effected.

Speaking of which, who are the leaders of the Goddess Cult?

Speaking of which, who are the leaders of the Goddess Cult?

Ever since the death of the Goddess Sect's founder, High Queen-Mother Callimeldë, there has been no real 'leader' of the Goddess Sect, though many claim the title. At the moment the King-Elder of Gorshan stands as the best thing as a leader in the west, while there is no such thing among the Orelves of the east.

edit: Oh, and some forewarning for stats, since I am changing how I represent militaries (i.e. cutting the 'manpower' function of settlements, as I could not quite figure out a good way to represent replenishing troops/model effects of troop loss other than "Welp, you lose 4 units for 1 turn. Sucks, doesn't it?!") the number of troops you guys have for your military will be how much I feel your clan has. You are, of course, free to debate these values with me.

Excellent update Nutra :)

I wonder what Urst's value, economically and militarily after such a holocaust is going to be...

@hbar

Your lady pirate sure got a lot of plunder income in one turn (I count 25)

1) Urst was burned to the ground! I thought I made that clear
2) About hbar and plundering in general: I am kind of against outright penalizing players by subtracting their income when other players inevitably dick them over. So, for the most part, "plunder" and other such ill-gotten gains will come from the unspoken for masses. The income that you players see is far from the total income that is shuffling around Ekra. However, if plunder is taken consistently expect for some problems to arise.

Agh. So much money lost on a dead king...
Yeah :C That was one thing that just kind of blew. Funny, though, because Spyrillo got a decent sum of cash for doing nothing this turn.

Upshot is I combined your 'boring' orders with your original ones!

That's "ok". Now with the high king gone my son king vulu (I forgot how I named him, well, soon everyone will know) can go forward and bring my plans to fruition.

Yeah, I understand that the city is destroyed, I was just wondering about the land surrounding it. Still, that's a lot of real estate and people in the ground...

The few survivors made it to Ganes. Their news of the massacre was most unpleasing to hear. Tellathiel raiders looted the High-King's gift on its way back home and killed most of the carriers. Tellathiel raiders killed Tortans to gain more money. Zentosh would have been so angered if he was not already on his way to Haeeae for conquest and glory. The news slowly reached him at the front as the gates of Dolonde opened before his army and allowed him a swift conquest of the city.

The Haeeae were not powerful, but they were a tough nut to crack. Their raids into southern Tortan and the defeat of the garrison at home were annoying at best, and Zentosh could not deal with the dishonor in the north. While fighting against the Haeeae finally Zentosh's heart cave in to his old age and he fell upon the ground. The entire noble force left the battle with the body back to Dolonde and from there the body was taken to Ganes for royal burial.

Looking at his father's funeral at the much older and wiser nobles, Vulu, the new lord, now named king, promised to follow in his father's footsteps of bettering the state of Tortan. He will continue the Gilded Web of his father's planning and will march north to demand honor and fear in the name of the dead carriers. He will become the first king of Tortan in this era of chaos and will make sure Tortan will do well. His father taught him well. He was sent to the best fighters to train, best houses of learning to study. He will do well.

Back at the palace at Ganes, Vulu found a large pile of papers his father wrote seemingly preparing for his death. He was after all, a very old Orc. In the papers he wrote in secrecy for Vulu about his thoughts for the future of Tortan and of the royal family. He spoke of a pure blood and great expansion to all direction. He spoke of befriending the youngling at the throne of the high king, and in later papers he wrote how Vulu must move Tortan's royal blood to become the next high kings.

Yet for his father as well, deep within the writings, Zentosh wrote to Vulu to go north and punish the raiders and their lord. Demand fear, and if it is not given, take it with force.

from Tortan
to Tellathiel:
Your so called unholy peace keeping have caused the deaths of my people and the theft of my coffers. I demand 20¤ to repay for the deaths and stolen good. Pay this or suffer the consequences of all-out war.

to Haeeae:
Peace has been reached. For now. Dolonde is now a port that belongs to Tortan. Refusal to accept this would bring only more chaos upon your lands.

to Nallviel:
My father has been somewhat harsh with his words, but even after that friendship has been built between our clans. We hope that this could continue even in these harsh times. I will expand the Gilded Web to Indoron as soon as it is finishes within my borders. Let us hope the pirate menace will ease now that I intend to build a fleet and aid the ports of Idhren's Bay.

to Kaanak:
Such chaotic times are upon us and I am looking for a fine bride for myself. My father requested that I will marry only an Orc and only of direct royal blood. Will you aid me in finding such a queen? ( ;) )

to my vice-lords:
The Tellathiel have dishonored us. Now that a port has been gained in Idhren's Bay and friendship with the Lady of Nallviel we must go and punish them for the deaths and theft they have brought on us! A war must be fought on those elves, and fear they must be taught.

An awesome pickup line thar, erez.

To Tortan
From Tellathiel

Hahaha. Come and get it.

To Haeeae
From Tellathiel

We have no doubt that your courage, will and strength are more than enough to take Dolonde back if the Tortan are being shot and butchered by our soldiers. Let there be more war, or you can surely hope never to be so great and prosperous and feared again.

To Guagziir
From Tellathiel

We would like to suggest a deal: you send us mercenaries, and if we are victorious we let them take home captives in excess of the pay for the mercenaries that might otherwise have been expected.

To Ealovir
From Tellathiel

Join us! You have been a peaceful clan in the past, but now there is hope for you of terror, glory and pillage.

To Fellithil
From Tellathiel

If you too wish to kill some of these particularly pathetic orcs and pillage their land, any one of you who wishes to fight with us will find himself feared alongside us throughout Ekra.

From Guagziir
To Tellathiel

We hesitate to commit our soldiers to war without pay, especially when your enemies are as mighty as Tortan. We would first ask that you present us with 10¤ and we would gladly supply your with 2,500 (5 units) of our fiercest warriors.

From Ealovir
To Tellathiel

We will tell you what we have told the many others who have knocked on our door bandying about bloody words and promises of violence: no. Ealovir, even in these uncertain times, will remain removed from these senseless conflicts.

From Fellithil
To Tellathiel

You have my bow!

Great start to the NES! I'm looking forward to getting into the action.
Any chance of getting a map with individual city names when you're done with stats?

@Popcornlord: Yep! That's what I'm planning on doing next.
