NutraNESIV.6: The Dread Kings of Ekra

From: Lord Horthir II of Clan Aeralithe

To: Clan Laedireth, Clan Aldaval, Clan Endain

Perhaps a trade treaty, agreeing to keep open ports, and otherwise take actions to increase trade, would be beneficial to increase the income of our empires.

I felt great sorrow upon hearing the capture of your son, and mourn for the plight of Bernarta in the last 20 years. The Toraalsel have pained civilized Tathsume for too long. I suggest firstly the rescuing of your son, through diplomacy or espionage, and then full scale war against these savages. We will show them true fear. As much as it pains me to say it, it seems unlikely to save the proper heir of Laedireth otherwise.

A trade treaty would be beneficial to all our parties, however I refuse to protect the merchants of the swine-lords of Endain. The Aldaval will happily agree to a treaty with fellow Elves of the Tathsume clan, but not the mongrels that have usurped rightful Aldaval lands.

Good question!

Unraised troops can defend your land, however not as well as raised troops. The real determinant is what kind of people are pillaging your holdings. If they are random bandits, criminals, etc., you do not really need to raise your troops unless I go out of my way to make it known that these people are a pretty big problem. If they are raiding parties sent from another player, the same can be said. However, if another player outright invades your lands you will fare better by having a small number of troops pre-raised so they can hinder/harm the hostile army as much as possible.

To sum it up: Yes, unraised troops can defend your land, but raised troops defend your land much better.

That's good to know. I had assumed they were useless until raised. Does your nonmilitary population that can be mobilized count towards defense as well?

We would be very open to a trade relationship, as it is only through prosperity that the spread of fear can exist. It is only those with much to lose who truly know fear, and even then, what is the greatest fear than that of loss? Prosperity is a boon to us all.

As to False lord Orbaradar the Weak, You can go suck on it. The Right of Strength, The right of Conquest is undisputed.

A reminder that orders are due two days from now on thursday!

A reminder that orders are due TOMORROW at NOON (EDT; GMT -5)

It seems unfortunate that your clans cannot agree, even in the interest of spreading greater fear. As such I feel obliged to remove the offer from Clan Aldaval. Although you are powerful, what news I hear of instability and the chance of civil war means trade may be difficult in that region.
As to Lord Jonas Prazna-Rugelah Endain, our merchants should be at your ports within a few weeks. I unfortunately have yet to hear from Lord Taerth, to whom the offer is still open.

Were it not for the sea that separates us we would rectify your decision.

I guess I did not put this on the frontpage/make it clear enough, but when you guys send me orders can you please include your stats that are on the front page.

Unable to send orders until about 10 hours from now. Sorry, I realise that's past the deadline.

Sorry for the delay. Midterms week has been a killer this semester.

I concur. We are always open to the expansion of peaceful trade and interaction with our various neighbors and friends. Let it be so.

I have pondered this point for many months, and it has drained me of my vigor and cheer. Nonetheless, I am thankful for the support you're offering. I'd most certainly prefer a peaceful end to this fiasco; but I cannot deny that my heart burns for revenge as well.

The only person I have not heard back from/received orders from is Seon.

I am technically missing orders from:

Masada
Dreadnought
Northen Wolf
TheDright
General Olaf
Seon

However, all of those players except Seon have contacted me about sending orders late.

I can pester Seon for you if you like?

It would be appreciated.

Apparently orders will be coming soon along with some sort of nasty plot that we've all come to expect.

And here I thought all the nastiness would come from Masada.

Orders have been sent.
