NutraNESIV.6: The Dread Kings of Ekra

To reward builders/make the builder-style of play not hopelessly dumb in this NES I am introducing the idea of 'projects'. Projects encompass those infrastructure/trade actions that require more than one turn. If wants to do a project then they just need to ask me what the initial cost for it will be, the cost per turn, and how many turns until it is completed. Now, players are not forced to continuously fund their projects, only when they want their project to reach the next 'level' of development. Furthermore, if you spend your whole turn just focusing on your realm you may purchase an 'extra' level of no more than 1 project you are running. Players can have no more than 3 simultaneous projects.

So I can finish both my projects this turn, right?

Looking over upkeep, these clans appear to have an incorrect value:
Clan Celenarryl should be 5 instead of 3 (2800 troops, 32 ships)
Clan Amathon should have 5 instead of 6 (2400 troops, 32 ships)
Clan Brishnak should have 3 instead of 4 (2800 troops)
Clan Endain should have 9 instead of 8 (5600 troops, 44 ships)
Clan Pudish should have 2 instead of 6 (38 ships)

These are with the assumptions that upkeep is always rounded up (as it appears to be) and 20 ships per 1000 men. If this is wrong, then a different set of clans will need to be changed and I'll point those out tomorrow.

20 ships/1000 men is a little ambiguous though as you contradict yourself. Could I get some clarification as to which one you meant? I'm assuming its the former because its way more clear.

Is this the 1¤ & 1000†/20‡? or is it a different cost not listed?

Thank you for the corrections, I do not know where my head was.

As for the 20‡=1,000†, I meant to say you can turn 1,000 manpower into 20 ships for 1¤. This conversion is irreversible, as it represents you gathering together seaworthy men from your manpower pool.

So I can finish both my projects this turn, right?

No, you would not finish finish both of your projects in this turn.

The expanded markets would move from (1/2)→(2/2), so it would be completed, however even if you devoted yourself only to projects at the most your roads would move from (1/4)→(3/4). It would be finished a turn earlier, but it would have to wait until update 3 and then you would have to wait until update 4 to see the full benefits of the roads.

Clan Erort seems unbelievably weak right now...

Also. I'm liking the new rules :)

Oh and I cast my vote to 5/1000 since a soldier in the field should not cost ten times more than a soldier in the field defensively.

Well the difference between having them standing in your realm and having them in the march is that whilst in your realm they are stationed in well stocked castles, cities, and various minor outposts; on the field they have to have all their food, water, and other supplies brought with them, not to mention hiring various support staff like blacksmiths, fletchers, siege engineers, etc..

Yes, I responded, Dright.

As stats are out orders for Update 2 are due Sunday 25 of March @ 12:00 GMT -5 (EST).

Do troops that raid need to be "fielded" as well? It's very expensive to raid this way... Might not be as worth it as the last update shown where forces just randomly raided with no connection to the lords even (;))

Raids do not need to be 'fielded'. I should make this distinction! And, again, your gift-laden caravan passed through the territory of some disgruntled vice-lords. Blame bad luck and interesting orders from both you and Spryillo!

I know, I'm not really complaining, just make fun of myself :)

Good to know! My plan leaves me a nice force capable of Raiding...

Clan, Capitals, & Cities @ End of Update 1

Finished the map that has all of the city names.

OOC: What are the conditions that have to be met to qualify for the project acceleration? For example, could I send out raiders and still receive it?

You can still raid and receive it. I think I mentioned that in the rules, let me check though; I am porne to mistakes.

"Wondrous. You are all ready?" Vulu sat at the head of a long table, on its sides many of his lords and ladies. Some even arrived from the nearly annihilated Malmirrin. One could see the displeased looks they were given by the Zeab. Zeab eyes saw the new Elven group as somewhat threatening to their own influence. One could only guess why.
"I wish to begin by saying I am pleased. Your abilities in the war against the Haeeae were most pleasing. My father created a fine group of lords here, and allied himself with a fine group from within the Haeeae. You excelled. Yet you know as well as I do, the job is far from done." The faces across the table were most of lords much older than the young king. Some were powerful warriors even before he was born. Yet there was little dislike among the crowd. A job well done indeed, yet the job continuing was surprising even to some of the oldest of them. Is the war upon the Haeeae to continue?
"I have signed a treaty with the Haeeae for now. The southern borders will be kept mostly peaceful" Vulu looked at the Malmirrin with a wink. "Our war lies far in the north." Vulu's face suddenly changed. The crowd of lords was uneasy. None wanted a war against the Tellathiel, none opposed it very much either.
"The city of Milerethon. That is our target. I do not want their lands. I do not want their warriors' blood. I want only three things." A short pause. Vulu's anger showed on his face. His eyes widened, his mouth begun to vibrate.
"I want his hands. I want his legs. And for a final touch, I want his head. I want to take them out of his body personally. I want him to suffer." The lords were in shock. This was a trait unknown from lord Zenthosh. This rage was unknown to them. And the ruthless plan. Vulu was truly living up to the Tortan famed trait.
"I do not care who rules Tellathiel after I am done. All I want his him. Lord Caleron. His insolence to me will be paid with interest." Most lords were somewhat unhappy. They didn't mind going to war for fear and loot, yet this was something new. They knew Vulu would not oppose to them looting Tellathiel during the march on Milerethon, but still, things were somewhat unsure.
"I want him to fear me and then I want him dead." The King was in rage. Suddenly the sound of an elder Zeab lord was heard.
"My King. What will sooth your anger a part from his total demise?" The Lord seemed serious.
"Perhaps hearing him begging for an end of the violence." Vulu smiled. "Perhaps."
"I see my King" the Zeab lord was pleased. The rage was not without boundary.
"The plan is simple and I will discuss it in a smaller crowd with the clan leadership. I just wanted you all to know the plan. My father requested me to speak to my lords and make them my aids in battle and in life." The group of lords cheered the king in quiet. One asked for a toast in his name and for much fear and glory from the war in the north. Perhaps Milerethon was the next place they will meet in.

I vote 5 per turn as well. I think 10 would still unbalance the game towards defense.
Also, yay! The city map is done!

From: King Horthir II of the Kingdom of Aeralithe
To: King Larenésas 'the Drake-Friend' of the Kingdom of Minamonno

It is excellent that you have accepted, both the offer of peace and the hand of my daughter. May prosperity and fear be with you and your kingdom.

Our first shipments of statues should be available for shipment as soon as your ships dock at our new temple of the goddess being constructed on the Island of Lawaiod.

Hmmm. Well, I may be inclined to change the amount to 5¤ then, as you bring up a good point Popcorn.

Players who have sent me orders, sorry, but would you mind re-sending them?

Also, thomas, ships also need to be fielded and therefore cost 5¤/20‡ (rounded up).
