It has come to my attention after watching Star Wars that Obi-Wan is actually a very poor Jedi. Apart from killing Darth Maul and having a fight with Anakin in III, he doesn't win a fight!!

Dooku beats him up every chance he gets and even Jango Fret gives him a kicking in II.

Anyone else agree or are we all sticking to the belief that Obi-Wan rules?

The 3 Jedi acccompanying Mace Windu while arresting Chancellor Palpatine seemed more terrible than Obi-wan.

Slain very quickly but by a Sith Lord in fairness.

Mace Windu killed Jango Fret with one swing of his light Saber. Obi-Wan spent most of the fight with Jango kissing dirt.

Forgive my ignorance but who is Jada Fret?

I think he means Jango Fett. Bounty Hunter, Template of the clone troops, 'father' to Boba.

True, I'll give him that one.

Grievous didn't seem like a very good lightsabre-fighter to me ...
but still, 4 lightsabers plus he's a a cyborg so his arms were like the propellers of a helicopter.

In the comics, Grevious was a very good warrior and kill jedis to collect their light sabre. In the movie Obi Wan was a Jedi master and a general, he must be competent to be selected for those position.

Jango Fett.

Obi Wan rules. Anyone can have an off day.

Obi-wan is the only Light-Side Jedi that has a slight bit of charisma. That should be enough.

And can somebody please give me a reason why in a society advanced enough to make someone who lost one arm and two legs live long enough, a woman can not be saved from giving birth ?
That really ruined the movie for me.

Going to sound now as if I have memorised every line in the film, which I can assure you I have not, but didn't the medics say that nothing was wrong with Padwone (or whatever her name is). She just died

Padmé is her name. A Padawan is basically a trainee Jedi. But it was bit of a cop out her losing the will to live. It would have been better for her to die of a crushed trachea

Well, Anakin trying to choke her made her lose her will to live. So giving birth was enough to finish the job.

Also, Anakin always had the full resources of the Jedi order/Empire to rehabilitate himself. Padme was in an escape ship iirc.
