Octafish

Trial ballon time.

Floating the idea of creating a second game with the same players and turn order that we have here. I think we have at least three of us who are interested in playing another game. We have already established that this group is well engaged. Turns are flowing quickly thanks to Ozzy's good thinking on turn order.

For some of us we only have the one game going.

For a long while now we are going to have easy to play, quick turnaround turns. Adding a second turn is not likely to add a lot of time to the process at least for quite a while. So, would this be an idea that will fly for you folks?

Assuming that some of you have all the games you want we could still make this work if the majority are interested.

Feedback?

in case there will be lack of players for this one I am available and eager

Would it be exactly the same? I might be interested if it was not a complete carbon copy. ie. diff map, diff civ, etc.

Oh yeah, different map and civs. This would be two distinct games in my mind. I am looking at the utility of getting two turns at once and exploiting (:)) a good core group for maximum entertainment.

I'd set it up but since I never have.....I'm looking to see if we can impose on one of the group with the experience. I'm doing good for the moment just to be able to find the turn on my system.

And Kokturk we note your interest.

Ok, am I doing something wrong? I send it to you, it says it sends, but then it says its still my turn for some reason.

I had same problem, but it was because i (game?) didn't properly save after completing turn.
Just went back into game, re-saved, made sure where the proper save was, & upload again = worked fine & Tracker moved to next player & all was well.

Actually it seems Tracker is smart enuf to recognize an incorrect upload as not being the next correct one in sequence = a good feature. :goodjob:

Of course, and then the game auto saves and I send that to you. I'll try manually saving the game after my turn next time.

I realised after I posted that ^ that of course you are, otherwise I wouldn't be getting my turn. Manual saving isn't the answer, it'd be a mis-spelling of a player name in the tracker listing I reckon.

Am I supposed to be sending it to your user name or your in game name? (I have been sending it to your user name, ricketyclik)

They're both the same, and it shouldn't matter. You should just end your turn, exit to the desktop, then upload the (automatically) saved turn to pbem tracker. It sounds like you're doing that, and that the problem is that someone's (probably yours) player name isn't the same as that listed in the Octafish game on pbem tracker. Only Ozy can fix that.

Reason I asked is because on the pbemtracker site, your in-game name is missing the y in your name, and I was wondering if that could be it by any chance.

If you go to the game in pbemtracker, and click on 'View Turns' you can see a history of what turns were saved and who they are for.

Doing this now, one thing that stands out is that no saves for ricketyclick were ever saved.

So that says we have a problem - probably in ricketycliks name, and I will check that out (again) after posting this.

Pbemtracker does not care who is sending the save - so it is not likely to be a problem with Osbiaths name. (And if there was, it would be unlikely that Osbiath would be able to receive his save)

As far as ending a turn, I guess Osbiath must be doing this correctly, otherwise ricketyclik would not be able to play the manual email sends.

edit

yes, i see it was my typo. Apologies, and now fixed.

See U just had your birthday, Bath.
Guess starting this game was one of your presents? ;)

We're all hoping that it's a birthday bite for U this time next year.

Several of you havn't completed your profiles... how we gonna wish U a happy (or otherwise) one? :mischief:
