Do you have any odd habits you want to share and discuss (possibly why we have such odd habits)?

Me, I have an odd habit of looking at my wristwatch (or wristwatchless wrist) whenever I mention time in spoken conversation, even those not normally measured by wristwatches (or even in situation where looking at my wristwatch won't help any).

I think it's because I'm generally terrible at getting any point across, partly because I tend to mumble whenever I start getting bored with talking, and I "compensate" with this. When I talk about time, it'll be hard to mistake me for talking about anything else aside from time (unless you happen to be looking elsewhere, are blind, or are subject to one my lame jokes).

Saying "I was gonna say..." at the start of sentances.

I say it so much, i annoy myself.. it doesnt even make much sense!

I will be the first to say posting on CFC.
Other than that my habits depend on the company.

JStrange refers to himself in the third person quite frequently. He realizes that it's odd, strange even.

Saying 'excuse me'. As a wee boy I was taught to say 'excuse me' whenever I made an involuntary bodily noise, and that advice has sort of infected my brain, to the point that I now mutter it almost constantly, under my breath, even when no-one else is in the room and I haven't made any bodily noises, voluntary or otherwise.

But on the plus side, due to this verbal tic, I'm slowly working through a backlog of bodily noises I made when I was a baby and couldn't say 'excuse me'. Someday, I'll be officially excused for every noise I've ever made! :D

Rolling little bits of paper up, until I've got loads and have to throw them in the bin.

I keep loads of receipts on hand for this odd habit.

That is possibly the most English comment I've ever seen on CFC.

I can't share utensils with another person, no matter how close I am to them. I have to wipe it off before I use it again, even though I know full-well that that doesn't do anything to remove the germs.

I know where you are coming from! I hate sharing food off my plate or sharing utensils!

Sometimes when I'm annoyed, I twitch my nose and mustache/upper lip.
