Hey everyone, I'm back from my extended absence due to no internet access for the past month and a half. Good to be back.

My brother's going off to college (to Beloit, a college in Wisconsin), and I'm coming for the final good-bye. But more importantly, I'll get to see Chicago.

I am back.
I was on vacation but I am back home now and will be able to read and post again. I have school in 3 days so I am sure I will be busy but at least I have internet access again, I have been without it for about 3 weeks! Now that I say it out loud it doesn't sound like a lot but for me it is and a lot happens at CFC in 3 weeks as I see from my 2 page list of subscribed threads that have been posted in!

Hi just thought I'd stop in to introduce myself. I've been playing Civ III for about two years now, and Civ II for about a year before that. It's my favourite game!

But in all that time, I am still on Warlord level... probably because I only cheat (reload game) in an extreme emergency and have never been to this site before.

Already got a few good tips. Thanks! Hope to zoom up soon!

Nope. It used to be sticky, but people kept spamming it. So it was decided to unsticky it, and let people say hi and bye to arriving/departing members.

But this thread dies down for like a month, and if I have to leave and I need to tell everybody, and I get slammed with reviving threads

Why don't you PM the OT mods and ask them to sticky it, then.

And people only get 'slammed' for reviving old threads when they don't add anything useful to the content. This thread is specifically designed to say 'hi' and 'bye'. Why would you get slammed for it?

Take the 'What are you reading again?' thread that just got revived. New user revived it, and (s)he added something useful, not just saying 'Hey, that's good' or spamming the thread. They're adding content to the thread. Hence, no 'slamming' for reviving old threads.
