Official Civ4 S&T Off-Topic Thread

On another note, I decided to try my game again and get more pics.

I've made a terrible mistake.

That Dutch Empire though  What did you do?? :p

I accepted Portugal as a vassal state.

Cue the Khmer, China, Spain, and the Dutch declaring war.

Then 'murica declared war with it's host of baddies a few turns later. Fortunately, thermonuclear annihilation is going to fix these twerps.

Always check a civ's diplomatic situation before vassaling them.

I think you meant a lot of, not several. Unless you just mean your family, since several means a few.

I do like manuals though, it feels like I have so much control.

Thanks for the lesson again CK. I really thought several was a synonym to 'many', now I see it's more then 2, but not many. :goodjob:

I had always thought the same! I was really surprised when I checked a dictionary.

No problem :D Hope I don't come off as a grammar nazi :p

There's always a relevant XKCD.
Also, I won a Space Race victory as Japan today. (Noble Difficulty, BAT Mod) I might write a bit about what I remember from the game, as it occurred to me that it would make a great story, but alas I didn't screenshot anything.
For those who voted in my Rome comedy story, a story will come soon(TM). Probably gonna be Japan.

Then why are you playing RFC Vanilla? :p

That was fast.

Nice to see you too baseball :p

And finally, after 14h of non-stop hard work, our college task is complete!

A Self Verifiable Program! Which has the incredible ability to be tested at any time to check for failures with little effort from the programmer who tests it.

So if you think staying for 14 hours in front of a computer with almost no brakes just to complete one of several tasks college gives you, then I recommend you forget about doing anything related to computer science on college

I hope I did well, in the last moments we were already changing stuff semi-randomly just to make the program "work" in the professor's pc. If when he presses enter, the program tells him it couldn't startup, we lose 80% of the points we can get from it, so it's better to make a stupid program that runs, then making almost a masterpiece that fails to start :p

Anyway, I'm glad I'm one step closer to winter break!

PS.: Now 'several' with its true meaning, thanks to CK :D

I was so confused when you said winter break. I forgot in Brazil it is winter right now :P also, I'm sure you did wonderfully :D and I'm glad my English is helpful to you :)

Speaking of language. I was in Lucerne, Switzerland today and someone in support of human rights or so came up to me. He handed me a flier and started asking me a question in German. There was an awkward silence followed by me saying "I speak English". He looked so sad and disheartened and I felt bad because his cause was for kids on drugs. :p

Congratulations Spirictum!
Though I have no clue about programming, last month I had to do a group project (making a general sizing and pricing of an industrial process) that had to be completed and presented exactly 24h after we had received it... we didn't sleep much that night.

Here in northern Italy we're currently having around 30°C in the morning, with peaks up to 35°C during the day (but it's summer for us, so that's not unexpected). Let me tell you, having no shaded parking spots at work makes the car seats at the end of the day too hot to even touch, much less sit on!
