Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for the advice.Well, it wasn't entirely clear if that's indeed the on you have in your laptop. If it is, I would not (pre-)order before you have gotten the demo to work.
It is REALLY weak
I'm gonna vocally agree to this, mostly because I've been wanting starting a thread stating just that (but I know better).Well it sucks you need a titan computer to even attempt playing this. Watching the videos the graphics don't appear even to be that good to be up to these specs.
I'm going to build a computer that beats recommended specs for ~$400 so you don't need that much of a titanRight.

Has Firaxis explained why the system requirements are what they are?
Has anyone even asked?

I'm hoping they racked it up higher then it really is to get less complaints that it doesn't run on the presented specs. I hope at least.
I worked my ass off in some terrible tesco job to get £600 to buy that laptop. This was less then 3 months ago. That's about $950. I run battlefield 2142 on it on top spec, also of course the civ 4 game without troubles. Those of course are very old games. So, I ran Armed assault 2 and could play it on high. (not very high)
Try the Mafia 2 demo off of Steam. I've been told by some of the gurus here that it seems to have the exact same GPU specs as CIV V. Also its made by the same company.
You could run ArmA 2 on highSo, I ran Armed assault 2 and could play it on high. (not very high)
but won't that mean you just spent $450 to play a game?I'm going to build a computer that beats recommended specs for ~$400 so you don't need that much of a titan
You could run ArmA 2 on high![]()
That one also has stated requirements pretty close to Civ5. But still, no guarantees ...
but won't that mean you just spent $450 to play a game?
i mean, did you need to build that new computer before now?
Well, if we're being technical, that's $400 for the right to pay for games. Also, for your correction, it isnt $450 to play 'a game'. Its $450 to play 'games'
Civ 4 is like how old now? 5 years?
How can anyone expect that a $400 PC bought 5 years ago to play Civ 4 should be capable of playing Civ 5 today?
High terrain/effects etc. Could walk with no choppiness/lag. Unless I spammed lots of units, but that of course would happen to everyone.![]()
