Oh, the weather outside is...

The Peggy's Cove webcam just went down. I guess they lost power down there.

EDIT: It just came back up. I guess they un-lost power.

It was supposed to hit around 3-5 p.m. today but at some point that changed and slowed down and the new forecast says it's making landfall (eastern shore, around Ecum Secum) about 9 am tomorrow.

We didn't really get hit where I am, lots of rain and some wind but it didn't even feel like a hurricane. I'm going to guess that there's some minor flooding though (there's a soccer field in my town that always seems to flood out during hurricanes). The Eastern Shore got the brunt of it. Power outages and so forth.

Youse is alive!

Cold front today, temperatures dropped by ~7 degrees Celsius compared to yesterday, and now it's raining and will be probably until morning. Summer is officially over, now it's off to cold, wet, foggy autumn which tends to last way too long in recent years.

Guess I picked the right year to not go to Newfoundland. :crazyeye:

Had the first frosts for the past couple of nights.

The pollution from the wildfires has subsided and temperatures have settled back in the high 70's, low 80's F.

Edit: I just checked the weather and it's going to be 97F for most of this week and we will have santa ana winds which are bad for forest fires.

We had a beautiful sunny day today. High in the mid 80s and not a cloud in the sky all day, just a wonderful blue ceiling everywhere.

Today is possibly last day of the year with temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius. At least it's Saturday, so I could make use of it.

I'm back into the 90s/low 100s. They even had to issue another flex alert to conserve power again on Thursday. I guess I should be grateful that the sky wasn't orange this week as well.

The weather's been awful - heavy rain for much of the day and no sun at all. I don't expect to be wearing a T-shirt still in October, but I also don't expect to need to put on the heating during the day!

It's the little things.

Here the weather is classic boring late summer/early fall. Pretty nice overall (got up to about 78F today), a bit chilly at night (currently 51F), not humid, no rain in sight on the forecast.

I spoke to0 soon.

I had to drive early this morning and noticed a heavy fog layer on the road. As the day went on, I thought the haze that continued to hug the road was just traffic pollution, despite the road being empty. It was only when I walked outside my apartment late in the day to go on a bike ride that I realized it wasn't fog and traffic pollution but instead a nice layer of forest fire smoke hugging the ground. I checked and saw the air quality index was over 150 which is generally hazardous. Bike ride cancelled. :(
