Oh, the weather outside is...

Our summers been garbage. Mostly around 15 Celsius. Hot day is 22 and there's been sod all of them.

October and November were mild for that time of year. Mid December rolled around and summer just quit.

Due to the amount of rain I think the hydro lakes are fairly full.

I'm freezing. As in it's nearly -40C outside and the heat's not working right inside. I'm wearing my winter coat right now and had to take my gloves off to type.

I just went for a nice walk in the 1°F (-17°C) windchill. Sometimes it's fun to spend some time outside in the coldest and hottest parts of the year just to feel it. We had some ice pellets last night that caused a lot of stuff to be canceled, but it melted on roads during the day today.

We had very warm January, abnormal warm. Many days got new temp record. Snow has melted in city, and last year's green grass came from snow

In 2023-34 We were snowed in. in one or two days a month's worth of snow fell, and there were a lot of days like that.
Edit. Usually there -1-2 week of freez in February (-25-30), but now average around - 5-8 last 3 year

Welcome global warming Kazan!

Maybe whining decades we could make such big balloons festival as in Albuquerque)
Maybe, For such a thing to work you need good weather conditions and wind patterns. Too much wind is bad.

Summers finally started. It was underc20 Celsius most of December and January.

24-26 degrees this weekend.

@Darsnan My wife would love that view from our windows. I like it better on the internet. We could use the water though.

Wind chill is -37C tonight. I'm wearing 4 layers and am about to go put on a sweater. I might end up needing my coat (some nights I do wear my winter coat in the apartment, and if it's cold enough for that, chances are I'm also wearing my toque).

According to the Weather Network it should warm up by the weekend, though. Like -8C or so. That'd be nice. It's been cold for weeks.

Yesterday we got some light freezing rain, followed by about 2 cm (just under an inch) of snow. We have now been below -10°C (14°F) for over 24 hours. I went for a walk a few hours ago when the windchill was -5°F (-21°C) and the temperature was -12°C (10°F). With two layers of pants and gloves, along with my heaviest coat, scarf, hat, facemask, thick socks, and boots, I was able to spend about 30 minutes outside. This kind of cold is fun for a short while, but I don't know how Canadians deal with it on the regular.

The average high this time of year is 13°C (55°F).

as a guy born and raised on 69°20′ is a matter of clothing. Of course, working outside in such weather is not very pleasant. Especially if there's a strong wind. But the most important thing you need is a warm (+22-24C) house. Where you can warm up after the street. In Soviet times they were attentive to such things, thanks to which we got used to warmth in our homes (all over the country, not only in the north), and we do not save on it usually now (well, and it costs relatively inexpensive, although, of course, every year prices are rising).

Extreme weather and powerful winds predicted for 100 million Americans

The National Weather Service has predicted extreme weather across a vast swath of the US encompassing more than 100 million people, with powerful winds gusts up to 80mph (130km/h) being forecast from the border with Canada to Texas.

A sprawling storm system crossing the US on Friday overturned semitrucks on highways and fanned wildfires in Texas and Oklahoma, where officials called for evacuations in at least one town. Tornado threats loomed for the Mississippi valley into the night and the deep south on Saturday.

An approaching wildfire fueled by dry grasses and spread by strong winds prompted emergency officials to urge residents to evacuate Leedey, Oklahoma, a town of about 400 people. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma state patrol said on the social platform X that dusty winds toppled several tractor-trailers.

Forecasters said the severe storm threat would continue into the weekend with a high chance of tornadoes and damaging winds on Saturday in Mississippi and Alabama. Heavy rain could bring flash flooding to some parts of the east coast on Sunday.

I guess its time to dismantle the NWS and NOAA so they don't give "fake news" about impending weather. Toughen up America and spend more time looking out your windows to see what the weather is?

As the OP, I'd like to request that this thread not get into politics, thanks. There are umpteen other threads for that.

Weather-related... it's cloudy tonight, and chilly enough for extra layers. Again.
