Oh, the weather outside is...

Blue sky, sunny, a few clouds on the eastern horizon (dunno about the west, as that's the other side of the building and I'm too lazy to leave the apartment to go and look), the half-moon is visible at 3 pm, which means I won't see it tonight, after dark (waves at it, hi, Moon! :wavey:).

Right now it's about -5C, forecast to get down to about -13C by midnight (with wind chill; only -7C without), 10% chance of snow (I'm reading this information from the Weather Network page relevant to Red Deer). If I were to go outside now, I'd just need my fall jacket over normal indoor clothes, single layer, no sweater.

It's gonna be slushy driving downtown, not good for people like me with mobility devices, since the department responsible for clearing the streets is dumb as a box of bricks when it comes to clearing the intersections and corners so pedestrians can cross the streets without having to wade through ankle-deep puddles or climb over piled-up snow.

At 11:00 we set off to Kayla'a to buy lunch. A gentle rain began on our way there, which is continuing now five hours later.
I bought a mesquite chicken sandwich for me and for the rest, we got 3 Tokyotokyo burgers and 2 pork kababs.

I also got a blackened chicken sandwich, but as dinnertime approaches, I'm not hungry. So this will be put off for lunch tomorrow, and I'll have either homemade mashed potato or vegetable soup for a light dinner. :yumyum: For tomorrow's breakfast, I got heuvoes ranchero [tortilla, refried beans, egg, with a sprinkle of cheese]. :cooool:

By lunchtime tomorrow, Auring should be a mere tropical depression directly north of my island. :p Our central mountains should shield us.

Laundry day and the clothes are freezing on the line if they are not in the sun.

Once they get unfrozen and dry they won't be warm, but they'll smell very fresh.

Or at least that's how it works here. Not that we ever deliberately dried our clothes when it was raining or snowing or excessively cold, but weather happens on its own terms.

Actually, it's been a long time since I've been able to dry my laundry outside. It's not allowed here, for a combination of reasons such as "your stuff might blow away and become a hazard to drivers" and "laundry is unsightly" (and truck tires and bikes and multiple garbage bags of stuff are better?).

It's 05:20. I awoke to find that the rain has stopped. Govt is reporting Auring is already just a tropical depression.

14:00: To my south, the sea is clear and sunny.

16:00: Auring is moving north, away from me. :cooool:

Hm. I just looked out the window, and there's some blue sky, some clouds (I expect tonight will be completely cloudy, as usual), and there's a lovely gibbous Moon (it's 3:30 pm).

There was quite a meteor event the other early morning; if I'd gone to bed half an hour later, I might have seen the fireball that other people saw who were awake.

Well, maybe. It was completely overcast here, but from the photos on the news site, it might have shown up.

After ten straight days of lows below freezing and three straight days of record low temperatures last week, we are flirting with record high temperatures ahead of some heavy rain. Gotta be Texas.

25° (77° F) and sunny. Gotta be Texas.

One fun fact, it got so cold mistletoe was falling out of trees.

Judith took one of these pretties away from the cats--common name Cedar Waxwing. Note the characteristic yellow tail tips. They winter here.

Sunny and 60 today.

Today it hit 27 degrees celsius and it was over 20 into the evening.

Currently 13 at 2am it's hotter inside and the cats on the bed. Insomnia blame the cat.

It's going to hit 60 again today!!

Yellow mustard weed is up and flowering in our yard!

We're having a snowstorm. In fact, much of the province is having some combination of windstorm and/or snowstorm.

This is actually normal for this time of year.

A yellow Easter :)
It comes here the last years earlier and earlier in spring, perhaps in two weeks here.
The weather is beautiful atm, 15 C no clouds. For the next two days 20-21 C is forecasted.

Snowed last night, and today's high will be around +5C. Tomorrow the temp soars up to around +23C, followed by dipping back to the freezing mark later in the week. Lousy SMarch weather.....
