True. Earlier tonight/last night (it's 2 am where I am) I thought I heard thunder and figured it was the first thunderstorm of the year.

Nope. I glanced out the window and it's been snowing for hours. It looks like December outside (minus the Christmas lights).

Time flies, though. It's hard to believe that it's nearly 5 years since the Fort McMurray wildfire up north. It started in May 2016 and was still burning months later. Part of the reason it was so bad is that we didn't get enough snow that winter and everything was so dry. So I've decided not to be upset about this. It can snow whenever it pleases, as long as it's not April 19.

01:00. It was calm at midnight but slowly the winds have been growing now they're blustering. Rain is falling...harder.

Severe tropical storm Surigae has just entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility directly east of me, heading northwest. It's not supposed to be affecting land yet, but I dunno. Surigae will grow into a typhoon and then slice harmlessly to the right and die.
