October was warmer and drier than average here, just like every month since the start of summer. But it looks like we may get some nice cool shots this November.
Somehow, even though the river near my house has been low for over a month, it never occurred to me that we might be having a drought. Here in Missouri, we’ve been in a drought since the beginning of summer. It looks like it’s about over though, it’s cooled off and we’ve had a few rainy days. This last week has been unusually warm for this time of year, though.

I live in a valley next to a river so I think that helps with the heat a bit. I have noticed the lack of rain, but all I ever thought was, "all right! less lawn mowing," not "oh no, drought".Yeah, there’s been no rain, and the weather has been unusually hot in the past few months. The national weather service has declared Missouri in a state of extreme drought since early August.
Makes sense. The recent lack of rain has helped me not to have to mow the lawn. Where exactly in Missouri are you?I live in a valley next to a river so I think that helps with the heat a bit. I'd rather not be too specific, but I live in the Mid Mo area, about 30 minutes from Jefferson City. What part of Missouri are you in?Makes sense. The recent lack of rain has helped me not to have to mow the lawn. Where exactly in Missouri are you?
I live in the Lees Summit area, about 25-30 minutes away from downtown KC.I'd rather not be too specific, but I live in the Mid Mo area, about 30 minutes from Jefferson City. What part of Missouri are you in?
