Oh, the weather outside is...

I haven't yet decided whether I'll be in Wraeclast or Azeroth after I've cleared the Nakatomi Plaza from baddies but not having to wonder if there'll be a white Christmas is a welcomed change.

Beyond miserable.
At least it's not cold enough to freeze. Put on an extra layer, and get on with life.

It snowed overnight here. Things have been so dry lately that if not for the Christmas lights, it would seem like October.

Australian weather is strange. It's raining, but it's too hot and muggy for a jacket at the same time. My brain's confused.

I sure did. I'm coming back soon, though, it was just to see the relatives.

The big storm moseyed into town yesterday. Warm (62F/16.5C right now) wind & rain, yesterday, today and probably tomorrow. Stayed inside yesterday, for the most part, but I had to walk from the subway this morning. My pants are wet. Shoes did okay. I bought a breakfast burrito as compensation for my troubles.

I'd rather it be -2C and snowing than 5C and raining. But it's supposed to be in the 50s F/low 10s C and dry the next week here. Nice weather, but I'd rather it feel more wintry.
Same. I have the sinking feeling I may seen my last real Winter unless I vacation further North.

That is a common occurrence in the Southern US in the summertime.

I live in Oklahoma, so it's at least not that unusual to have mild weather in December. Now I'm visiting family in California where it's even warmer.

I went out to do a couple of errands today. The temperature this morning (with wind chill) was -35C.

Even I draw the line at enjoying that temperature. I had on 4 layers, plus a parka, two layers of gloves, a toque, and put my hood up. I was waiting for the bus to take me home, and ended up pacing up and down a half-block until the lady who runs a craft store/sandwich & bakery shop said I could stand in her window to keep watch while staying warm.

I'm home now and still not quite thawed out. And everyone's telling me that this is the WARMEST day we'll be having this week. It's -31C now.

I was going to rant about the cold and the dusting of snow we got today, but I feel I cannot compete with that.

It's 32°C and I'm wearing jeans. I did have a fleece on earlier today.

Hopefully all the rain that usually happens in Chch this time of year doesn't go into wiping out Hawkes Bay for the third year in a row. A raincheck, if I may.

It is -2 here and already appalling.
We're forecast to have a low of 0°F (-18°C) in Norman on Sunday night. If it verifies, that would be the coldest it's gotten here since the great cold snap of February 2021.
Wimps.

Here's the current hourly forecast here:

I will be sleeping under more layers tonight and turning the heat up. I will also be encouraging Maddy to sleep under the covers if she wants to (though she does make a good blanket).

Hit 30 here. Cooled off heaps though.

Camping on Saturday supposed to be 28 then rain.

It's -44C today. Some people in the building have no heat. Thankfully I'm not one of them. I have heat.

That should be illegal if it's not already. Here it's considered a maintenance emergency if there's no heat and the outdoor temperature is below 50°F (10°C).

It's not like their heat was deliberately shut off (that IS illegal, though that's a fairly recent-ish thing after some people froze to death in their apartments because they couldn't pay the bill). It's just that something wasn't working. At least I'm no longer on the first floor above the parkade. I froze for two winters down there, with no insulation and a heating bill (from a portable heater) that drove my electricity up to 3 times the normal amount.

These buildings have multiple plumbing and heating issues, and unless it's an unmanageable situation I'm not going to complain too much beyond normal grumbling. I'm wearing 3 layers now and feel a bit chilly. I've got a sweater handy for a 4th layer. But right now I'm in the social room, which has a lot of NE-facing windows, so it is chillier in here. Upstairs will be warmer.
