Online Romances, do they work?

I hate online dating. It makes me feel like a loser and you never know for sure what the other person's intentions are.

Plus they IM you all the time. Which seriosuly interupts my porn surfing. Sometimes if I forget to shut of my messenger, their IMs will cause my games to crash.

But I'm sort of in one now. My friend started talking to a girl and then I start talking to her sister. The only reason we're doing it because we are stopping in their hometown (Puebla, Mexico) on an upcoming Central American road trip. Its gona be a one time deal though.

Do online romances work? I don't know, but I think I might like to find out. I've met a few people online who I would like to get to know better ... ;)
Do any romances work?
Well, my parents have been happily married for about 28 years, and they're still romantic at times ...
Yeah, it's hard to get romantic with text, 2D pics and smiley faces (though we all do try, don't we :D).
You certainly do! :p

Its not reccommended but I think in some instances it can work.

Has anyone been in one?

How do they end?

Do they work out?
Can two people meet over the internet, find common interests, then meet in real life and fall in love? I think so, as this has happened many times. Can people fall in love over the internet? I don't think so. You can like someone, but I don't think true love or courtship is really possible over such an impersonal medium.

Granted, I haven't thought up a line of argument on this, so my opinion is unsupported by proven logic or tangible evidence, but that's what I think.

I think online romances might work better actually if you meet someone who you like for everything they put in thier profile and they like you for everything in your profile.

Granted thats rare, but at least you know where your going from date 1.

drawback to that is, anyone could put anything in their profile. Also you put in your profile what you think you are, not neccesarily what you are.
