Open Spots in NES.

It wasn't a mechanics assessment, but rather a combination of that and the lore or storyline that you need to understand. ;)

In reverse, despite my NES' sparse storyline, for example, the mechanics are probably a little confusing, due mostly to the fact that I wrote the ruleset and that brought it down my list.

My mechanics are a horrible chimera of "Classical", "Special City" and "Arcade" rulesets. However, it does run by "You pay as much attention as you want" rule of thumb. :p

Looking for a nice story-driven NES to participate in. :D

My new NES is story-driven... not technically, but writing good stories can have an effect on gameplay. If you want a story-based statless NES, Core is restarting, GalaxyNES is always well worth a look at and Arrow Gamer's going to be starting one like that (if my impressions are correct) soon as well.

Well, story-based=/=story-driven=/=statless.

Story-based simply means that the story is given a greater significance than the stats as long as the mod pre-accepts it. So even though my NES has quite a number a stats, most of them are superfluous as long as you stay in the "green zone" and stories can accomplish alot.

Story-driven would mean more that stories ARE the game, and stats are merely to help in the moderation process. ErezNES is an example of a Story-based game with nearly ineffectual stats.

Statless simply means no stats. Can you have a statless game with little story? Have you ever played tic-tac-toe? Eeyup. :)

Absolutely not. I was about to do it myself. :p

Join KhaNESII, the new NES where YOU are the Roman Republic!

Intrigue! Politics! Drama! Cunning! It's all here in KhaNESII!

Seriously though, you should join up and create a character. We can accommodate literally any number. :p

My NES, Six-Months War; Take 4 is an need of some new players. Regardless of experience NESing, there are a large number of nations that I'd like to see filled up by a player.

A top 10 power is open!

Looking for someone to play as the Confederate States, and see if you can right the wrongs done to you during the Great War.

Another Great War has broken out in the Pacific, pitting Japan against the United States and the British Commonwealth.

While all three major powers are taken, if you'd like to hop in as a British Dominion (Canada, Newfoundland or New Zealand would be my recommendations) see what you can do to help the British war effort. If you wish to help Japan spread the glory that is the Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere, and prevent the Western powers from re-establishing a presence in the Pacific, try your hand at Indochina or Siam.

For players that are looking for an interesting situation to develop and fully customize their nation

Try out Transvaal, the Far Eastern Russian Republic, Ireland or Bulgaria.

If you just want to jump right into things, and see how well you measure up against other NESers

Take a Chinese Warlord Clique. Several are still available; pick one up, and see how far you can take your region. The Qing Empire is still open, and remains to be largely the most powerful of the factions, thanks to a lot of previous modernization help on behalf of the United States and the German Empire.

If you don't like any of those, I'm sure there is a nation I can recommend if you tell me what you're looking for. I'm happy to answer any questions about my NES, or specifics about the open nations.

LeBoshWade Nes is ready and open for players. Be Dwayne Wade! Or anyone really. Whatever you want

I would like to comment that the Core reboot is once again working well in progress, and I would appreciate any comments and sign-ups. A formal start is likely within the next 24 hours.

Yo, so I'm hosting a nes, Blood and Oil: The Fall of Djombar.

Bullet points

-You play in the fictional West African Nation of Djombar, where the nation has fallen into absolute chaos. The order that can be created will be something that you impose.

-The nes is character/faction based, where your character's backstory plays a very important part. Are you a loving, caring man who wants to bring freedom and prosperity to Djombar? The people will love you! Are you a brutal tyrant who will do whatever it takes to restore order? The people will fear you! You can be a radical imam calling for the destruction of non believers, a ruthless corporation intended to exploit a war torn nation, or a pirate that's going to profit any way you can while the chaos is here

-Updates are two weeks long, and an emphasis is placed on tactical strategies. While many neses are emphasizing on grand strategy and leave the battles to the generals, you are your factions president, economist, general, and field officer. Your strategies will mean victory or defeat.

-New players are always welcome. There's plenty of chaos to go around, and even if you think that victory in the civil war is unattainable for you, the right message and the right tactics could be your ticket to glory.

-Right now we have less than 15 players, and we have PLENTY of room in the South and in the West. So come, have a ball, and show us what you've got. Become the African dictator you always dreamed of being!
