opera 9.52 speed dial

does anyone know how to disable the continuous loading of the speed dial pages? everytime that i delete my private data, opera reloads/updates the saved pages on the speed dial since i upgraded to 9.52. it's a bit annoying since it slows down inet connection and deletes my well timed saves of sites, when they had nice pics on the front.

Right click on the entry, Reload Every > Never.

EDIT: oh no, i was too quick. it still reloads after clicking "delete private data". i tried the options "none" and under "custom" i unchecked "enable" under "automatic page reload". none of it works. any other ideas?

It's the "Delete entire cache" option that toggles it.

Since the thumbnails for speeddial are part of the cache, they get deleted when you clear it out.

Well of course it will. If you delete the cache you're deleting the saved version, so it has to reload it.

On a slightly related note, it is interesting that the speed dial thumbnail gets a lower acid3 score than the browser normally does but the tab thumbnail gets the same acid3 score.
