There is an intermittent bug with exploring dens.

Playing as Infernals, I explore a den with one of my units. It says "explore den" in the messages at the top but nothing happens. The den stays on the map. Next turn you get a guaranteed CTD.

Also, if you save the game after exploring the den and nothing happens, when you reload the game it will CTD as well. The loading screen gets to "Setup Map" and then crashes.

I guess there is some faulty code in there which corrupts the map square making it crash.

The save game below was saved after the den explore. It will always crash before loading. I don't have the save just before unfortunately.

You can't remove troll lairs. I can't imagine that this is intended.
Are you sure? You need Construction iirc.

Ahwaric made a mistake in 0.24C change to spellPeace and spellPeaceSevenPines. See my post #862. I tried it out and the AC really does not do what it is supposed to.
This will get in the new patch ;)

Could you also have a look at the Ghostwalker, Reaching Creeper and "Feed Creeper" problem. It still looks like Ghostwalkers can't actually cast Feed Creeper. I've looked at the code myself but couldn't spot the problem.
I'll have to look at them. Didn't play Scions enough.

Opera, you must be one of the developers so might know the answer to my "fix" to the missing artwork (described earlier). Am I shooting my foot off by placing another "fpk" file in the "Assets" folder -- especially when it most probably (well actually definitely since I unpacked them and compared some of the contents) contains much of the same artwork? Am I creating a big overhead in the game (I noticed that in playing "single" on a huge map the game basically died around turn 350, the saves going over 850K in size).
I'll have to take a look at that one too...

Orbis 24C

There is a couple of bugs with the Infernals :

- When I first summoned them using the Sheaim, I switched to the Infernals but everything surrounding Dis was black. I saved and reloaded and the map updated.

- In the save I have uploaded, click next turn and a barbarian lizardman will "attack" Dis causing all of my units to exit the city. The lizardman then sits triumphantly in Dis (without conquering it) while my extremely powerful Demon lord gets chucked out :(
1) Yeah, I think it's a known thing. Happens when changing flatland to hill to.

2) But you can't go back in your city? Anyway, it's weird that it pushes you out.

Sorry to have to mention this, but it also happens with other animals, usually connected with the pack-leader-event. Irrespective wether the lair is cleared or not.

PS: Happens with all patches so far, iirc also in FF (not 100% sure)
How do you know it happens with other animals?

Just thought I'd mention that the "explore den" is marked in such a way that it can be miscasted. I had a lions den in a haunted lands and it took me 6 turns to explore the damn thing. I'm not sure if this is intended, maybe they using scrying spells to explore, i dunno, but I figured that may be a quick easy fix so there ya go =P.
I didn't understand this. What do you mean by "it can be miscasted"?

Playing the Scion minor leader Publius who has the Tolerant trait seems to make it so you can't build Temples of the Gift in conquered cities. This ruined my plans for an undead lizardman army, and frankly makes managing conquered cities really lame because you don't have any haunted lands.
That's intended I think. The Temple of the Gift is a replacement of the Pagan Temple. In a Mazatl city, you get to build their replacement. Assimilation is a broken feature, anyway...

I believe it's due to the "explore den" ability rolling a UNIT_LION_PRIDE which doesn't exist. I believe it will be fixed in next patch.

I think I know the problem that Crystal Fox is talking about. If you on a haunted lands square and become spooked you have a chance to miscast spells. This can mean weird things like not being able to explore dens or add fort commanders. Not sure its actually a bug, since it does make sense that a spooked unit might not be able to perform actions like that. I made a comment on the suggestions thread on a similar issue.

Oh, yes, I didn't get that.

Hmmm. I do believe they are abilities though, not spells. Hmm, I'll have to check that too

I'm going to post the patch D tomorrow.

It won't require a new install this time as it will just overwrite your Orbis' files. So, in fact, you won't even need to install FFH patch E or F (which I think will be the name of the one that will correct the current BonusAffinities bug). But you will still be able to run Orbis if you've installed said patches ;)

2) But you can't go back in your city? Anyway, it's weird that it pushes you out.

You can go back into your cities but any barbarian unit pushes out the Infernal units instead of attacking. It seems to be some mix up in the peace with demons/barbarians/animal code. There is a lot of wierdness between these three "barbarian" races and the Infernals.

For instance, if my ritualist tries to cast Ring of Fire next to an animal, it comes up with the popup asking if you really want to attack them because it could declare war. I cast it anyway, and the animal gets damaged but I was already at war with the animals and so the popup is redundant.

Yes, I think it was a lion den that misbehaved. So looking forward to next patch.

Thanks.

Lanun Pagan Temple does not provide a free priest (or much of anything compared to other pagan temples. I'm posting this as a bug because it seems like an XML typo/oversite ;).
Huh? No pagan temple provides a free priest. They provide 1 priest slot; and the Lanun temple gives something like +5%:food:, +10%:culture: and a free promotion to all units in the city. I agree though that the percents are useless... I changed the culture ones in my mod ;)

Please download Patch D again if you downloaded it before 12:17 pm GMT, as I forgot to add the new dll in it

Undocumented feature: Opera has included her map scripts.

Opera, no successful installation for me yet. Got CtD when I tried the first time. Second time it started but one of my unit was invisible. I deleted my FFH2 and Orbis folders and did the below steps. Still get CtD. FFH2f starts up just fine (haven't tested beyond that).

1. Installed FFH2 (using FallfromHeaven2041d.exe; yes, I have latest BtS patch)
2. Updated to FFH2f (FfH2041f.exe)
3. Installed Orbis (OrbisSetup024.exe)
4. Updated to C (Orbis024-PatchC.exe)
5. Updated to D (Orbis024-PatchD.exe)

It seems a little weird to install an older Orbis patch over a newer FFH patch, like I'm undoing FFH2f changes.

Well, seems like I'm not nearly as good since I already broke it... :(

I'm trying to find what is causing this CtD...

ok, so i started game with Play Now button, map was generated but before DawnOfMan window empty TechnologyAdvisor showed up, i exited him, then i exited DawnOfMan window and now i'm in game but without any interface ...

edit:
no CtD so far
Playing with no interface is so challenging ... and damn unplayable ... xD
edit:
even replay minimap is messed up

I'm trying to find what is causing this CtD...

I am getting a perfectly reproducible CtD everytime I try to start a game as one of the Elven civs (using "Play Now!", "Fractal" map script). In contrast there is no CtD for Bannor or Hippus (I have not tested other Civs yet).
FlavorMod issue?

EDIT: Feel free to ignore the above.

I skipped the "apply Patch C" step. It is unusual (and uncomfortable) that you have to apply an older patch before applying the current one. This does not conform with the scheme used by Fall for Heaven, Fall Further, older versions of Orbis, etc. I would prefer a "complete" Patch D which does not depend on Patch C.
