Wars of Warcraft: Month 7
VOYAGE OF PRINCE SUNSTRIDER. After departing the lands of his father, Prince Sunstrider and his loyal followers have taken to the seas, looking to take the fight to the humans as they have pledged, blaming humanity for the difficulties against the trolls. Looking to finance his growing struggle, the prince has begun targeting the growing amount of human shipping in the Great Sea. With so many ships travelling between the north and Stormwind and back, loaded with ample supplies and goods, they have proven a tempting target for the elven raiders. The swift ships of the elves have been able to agilely avoid the larger human warships, engaging transport vessels and other craft. Despite this, the human frigates have put up decent fights, escorting the crafts, and sinking a pair of the faster elf ships, with only moderate losses. A few civilian ships were looted, but overall, as Kul Tiras and Gilneas escalated their naval patrols through the month, the elves found fewer opportunities for attack when the larger human ships were not present.
Casualty Lists
Thalressar Sunstrider: 2 Corvettes
Kul Tiras: 3 Frigates
RISE OF WALDAELAN. The nation of Alterac has long been bereft of the influence or power of its larger neighbors and the other human kingdoms, and with the recent wars against the trolls and the growth of fighting with the orcish Horde, Lord Aiden Perenolde has looked toward expanding his personal strength. The lack of a magical arm of Alterac's army has been a matter of concern, particularly with so many of the north's mages currently engaged in the war against the Horde in the south. During the course of the past several months, Lord Perenolde has been in pursuit of a magically talented citizen to lead the creation of a mage corps for Alterac. Among the local residents was the owner of a magical item shop in Alterac City named Waldaelan, who had been trained in his youth in Dalaran. He has come out of semi-retirement to lead the creation of a group of magi for Alterac's armies.
RISE OF CURANCY PHARNSWORTH. The death of the mage Darius Crowley at the hands of the orc assassin Garona led to the end of organized Gilnean leadership in the expedition to the south. The search began immediately in order to locate a new promising leader for the Gilnean expeditionary force to Stormwind. The person selected was Curancy Pharnsworth, a prominent cleric among the clergy of the Holy Light in Gilneas. He has reluctantly taken up arms to travel to Stormwind and lead the Gilnean expedition and provide moral support and healing for those who require it in the besieged city. As the orc siege lines close in, it is certain that Curancy's services will be quite required in the coming months.
STEAMWHEEDLE CARTEL SETTLES DOWN. King Terenas of Lordaeron has welcomed the arrival of the Steemwheedle Cartel of goblins to his shores, giving them a grant of lands to hold in his southern realms. He has granted control of abandoned Purgation Isle to the goblins, who have rapidly transformed it into a new economic trading post and corporate headquarters for the Great Sea. Trade has begun with the local towns of Hillsbrad and Southshore, hoping to exploit the wealth of Lordaeron for their own ends. Forces have been recalled from service with Stormwind to assist with the construction of the new town of the goblins, providing their labor and equipment to the growing new settlement. With their new outpost and citadel, the goblins have developed the new rocket cannon, providing a new siege and anti-personnel weapon to their forces. The new device is known to occasionally be as deadly to the operators as to the masses, but as always, it's not a goblin invention if there is no risk of it blowing up in one's face.
WITHERBARK TRIBE SETTLES IN THE HIGHLANDS. Seeking out a place to recover from the constant attacks of the humans, the Witherbark tribe of trolls has passed through the lands of the dwarven clans and settled in the Modan Highlands. Settling upon the fertile delta of the local river, they have begun farming and setting up a new village for their people to live. With no impending hostilities with the local dwarves and well away from human attacks, Mai'jin has begun focusing on rebuilding his shattered tribe from the losses they have suffered. The new town has begun to do well as the trolls build a new town, and look to stay out of the way of the local dwarven clans and their feuds.
THORIUM WAR CONCLUDES. The fighting between dwarves has been brought to an end, as the Dark Iron and Bronzebeard dwarves have secured a peace. The Thorium Brotherhood has established control over most of the lands formerly controlled by the Dark Iron Emperor, while the dwarven and gnomish army sets up defensive positions in the hills along the new border. The Dark Irons have thus been freed to deploy their army to fight against the impending attack of the Lightning's Blade Clan, which has begun the siege of the mountain fortress. The end of the war has been clearly seen as a new defeat for the Dark Iron cause, and the impending orc attack seems to herald a day that could clearly end with the destruction of the Dark Iron home in Shadowforge City.
RISE OF CHOM'GAR. As the Lightning's Blade Clan closed in upon Blackrock Mountain, they have sought to gain an edge over the dwarves that reside within. They have found a wandering ogre, who apparently wandered off from another clan through the Dark Portal. The ogre is known as Chom'gar and has since become a mascot to the orcish forces, who have provided him with a piecemeal set of armor and equipment, as a symbol of their might. The ogre has been assigned to lead the charge into Blackrock Mountain and the dwarven city within, and became a formidable sight to the dwarves unfortunate enough to see Chom'gar charging towards them.
ASSAULT ON BLACKROCK MOUNTAIN. The greatest battle of the month took place at the southern gate of Blackrock Mountain as the Lightning's Blade Clan of orcs began a full assault upon the Dark Iron capital. The dwarves put a heavy toll on the attackers, as their riflemen managed to shoot down the orcs with veteran accuracy. The ogre Chom'gar seemed impervious to these attacks, ultimately using even dwarves as blunt instruments upon their brethren, and cutting a swathe into the fortress, even as the Horde's catapults fired shots into the dwarven barricades. The fight continued over nearly two weeks as the Horde entered into the center of the dwarven city, fighting suspended over the molten lava below and penetrating deep into Shadowforge City. The dwarves struggled to maintain control of the north gate, which fluctuated in control between the two groups. Ultimately the purge of the city succeeded, and the few Dark Irons who survived have either barricaded themselves in the very depths of the mountains or fled out into the northern Searing Gorge.
Casualty Lists
Dark Iron Clan: 120 Warriors, 22 Riflemen, 3 Clerics (+1 Level for Dagran Thaurissan)
Lightning's Blade Clan: 145 Warriors, 35 Spearman (+335 Gold; +1 Level for Chom'gar and Zarantu)
GARONA WOUNDED IN ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT. The half-orc assassin Garona was nearly caught by human guards and forces this month as she once more attempted to prematurely end the life of a human hero. The knight, Marcus Jonathan, was leading the mounted forces in drills preparing for the impending battle, when he was nearly slain by an arrow, which fortunately only grazed his knee, having gone low from the chest. The angered knights stormed the building from which the arrow came and discovered the half-orcs hideaway. Garona managed to kill one of her attackers, but was subdued by Marcus Jonathan himself and taken to the city stockades. Unfortunately for the human cause, she escaped her handlers before she could be put away, but was wounded in the process. It is believed that Garona has fled the city at last, escaping over the walls and into the orc lines. (-1 Knight, +1 Level for Marcus Jonathan; -1 Level for Garona)
THE SIEGE OF STORMWIND. The calm before the storm continues around the city of Stormwind, as the orcs and humans continue to trade catapult shot from the walls and siege lines surrounding the human capital. The orcs have been slowly mustering a larger and larger army as the Frostwolf Clan returns from the razing of Westfall and more troll and orc reinforcements are brought in. With the goblins having departed the city and only a few mages having arrived to back up the human armies, the threat of the city being overrun continues to grow, especially with the threat of elven raiders on the Great Sea. The fighting has been mostly subdued, as the only casualties on both sides have been from deaths caused by catapult shot, and most of those have only been injured. The targets for both sides seems to be the siege engines of the other, and it is quite likely that with the superior orc numbers, that the few human machines that remain will be of little consequence when the true battle begins.

@BILLSIF: Due to the lack of any major battle erupting, I did not cast the spells you considered. Also, I'll point out that that's a lot of mana dedicated for spells which probably don't require that much effort.
@Nailix: There was no confirmation of a trade wtih Dalaran, so that part of your orders was ignored.
Anyone who failed to get in orders for this update was dropped due to the lengthy amount of time provided between this and the prior update.
