Paradox Interactive games

Wow HoI2 is really fun! I still have loads to learn though, if you anyone has any tips I would appreciate it. Also, D2D does not have any patches available, but Doomsday seems to work fine.

I just got NA and IN and started a game as France.

It's been forty years. I now control half of Italy, all of Belgium (except the province of Brabant and the kingdom of Liege), the Aragonese coast, Switzerland, and all of France except Nevers, Burgundy, and Lorraine (who I'm declaring war on next to bring Belgium and the rest of France under my wing). Then, I attack Naples after my truce expires to unify the other half of Italy.

Looking for BB wars?

Undead?

HoI beta 1.3 is a gigantic improvement
It is, though still some more work could be done. Like i've loaded up the UK in 1939 (playing Germany grand campaign, just about to pound Poland on the historic date) and they are only building infrantry and destroyers! Will play a few more months later and see what they are doing when I start pounding their allies.

Johan posted this morning to say they are working on adressing the issues with the lastest HOI3 Beta patch:)

I wonder if they will release several Beta's like they have been doing with EU3? By getting the players to test the patch and report back with problems it certainally does speed it up.

While it's good that Paradox wants to fix the problems with HoI3, if they want to grow their business they need to start doing this type of thing before the initial release of the software.

I think they have all these problems because there is like six of em (I think they may have doubled 12 recently) Well thats what I read on their forums.

The fact that they don't have a lot of developers is even more reason to have a large beta test group before new software is released. Granting a lot of hardware mix-and-match issues are going to crop up even after release, basic gameplay issues could get resolved before release.

A small company should know not to try more than they're capable of. If 12 developers is all they have, they should focus on one game over trying to make a whole bunch constantly. As much as I'm interested for Victoria 2, they should put all their focus on fixing HoI3 first before thinking of any new games. Yeah I know they have different teams but I'm sure they could all apply themselves towards fixing one game for a while and get themselves some more resources and fan support, because as it is with the past few releases, a lot of people(like me) won't be just buying the new game right away no matter how interesting it looks because we'll think the release is just a beta we have to pay for.

SAVE IT! There are plenty of us who don't give a sh!t about "HOI". I DON'T DO MODERN.

A company can multitask. I'm not going to wait for the games I want because they're trying to "fix" HOI.

For EU2 fans, there's been a new release using the EU2 engine. It's called For the Glory and it was developed by the people who made the wonderful AGCEEP mod for EU2. FAQ is here

It sells for $20 or for $22.50 you can get it with EU2 if you don't already own it.

Alright. I got bored with France, so I tried Muscovy. the date is 1457. Through a series of events, I am about to form Russia. I beat the Horde, annexed Novgorod, am up to Irkutsk in colonization and took a chunk of Lithuania and the Horde.

Now, to let BB sink, cut down more Horde, and rule the Motherland once and for all.

I don't even play HoI, I'm just saying, it's bad for their public image if people(like me) are going to be hesitant to buy their games right away because it took 2 years and 2 expansions to make EU3 a good game and will likely be the same with HoI3, besides that what, 2 months after release it's still got tons of bugs and major issues apparently.

Er, um, if the game you want is still under development, it seems to me that you're
going to wait whether you like it or not. The only alternative is to cease wanting the game.
