To be fair, the Anglo-Sphere has become some among the looser family-friendly standards, if one views what's allowed for entertainment, in this regard in China, India, Russia, the Islamic World, and most of Africa.

I think you will find it hard to find a single place on earth where displaying a mans genitals on prime time television is considered appropriate. I mean, I am no prude, but like, I feel this is an extremely low bar to clear. Like, I can swear that at one point I literally saw something get hung up on the thing like a hook. Like, would it really have been that hard to give the guy a cup to put under that suit? Or you know a set of superhero underpants or something. Really, anything other than flat out insinuating hot smurf on fruit salad action.

In this one single photo , you can roll back the entire gains of Black Americans since the 1950s and all the gender stuff because they are just "degenerate" . The only way you can make this worse is discovering Macron's favourite is actually Jewish . Making this a proof that there is some satanic plot to destroy nations and religion (to change according to regions) and decency and every other big or little thing that sets us humans different from apes . I mean, we are talking about the same France that produced Kirikou, a celebrated children animated film where the (child) hero tramps about naked with his genitals freely hanging out and where women go around in traditional (topless) apparael for the entire movie, which did not scandalize much of anyone in France (or elsewhere in most of Europe) so I would actually question how much you understand perceptions of nudity at a global level.

But I would also point out that, despite your insistence on yelling "naked", he was not. Sure, his underwear was (very) form-fitting, but he was, in fact, wearing them, and that even in many of the places that DO take issue with prime time nudity broadcast, the difference between a very suggestive and minimal piece of clothing and no clothign at all (see also: nipple covers), has been held to be quite significant.

You did not see his genitals. You saw an outline of his genitals under a tight piece of clothing. More precise of an outline than you might be used to, to be sure ; but still nowhere near the actual appearance of the real thing.

am not watching Olympics like since 1988 , didn't see the ceremony , why would ı want to see his genitals . And yes , we are talking about some other person who might become a call for action against all infidels and specifically Macron's France which also used to talk nonsense about creating a new French friendly Islam . Which might then be linked to reverses in Francophone Africa , New Turkey supposedly behind those reverses as Putin's proxy force , clashes against Greece followed by US intervention , the whole thing . Like if that happens , you hopefully will not be offended by the parade by the Eiffel starting with Macron's favourite's head on a pike . Trumpian America has burned a few braincells globally , people need really colourful similes to get the idea . Okay, back to the games. Fun watch for me of the USWNT (U.S. Women's National Team) dominating the Australian ladies, who had much prettier yellow outfits than the boring American white, oh well. US is a largely new team this time with some returning favs, and good all around. Last time they had at least 3 players from my Long Island, NY; this time I can find only 1 (Crystal Dunn, b. 1992). These ladies ought to go far.

Saturday looks to be USWNT vs Japan. Looking forward to this one!

Indeed, let's focus on the sports, there are plenty of games going on now. It's already been nearly a week since the opening ceremony, if you still want to discuss it, Arts & Entertainment is probably the better forum.

Trampoline is an Olympic event? I am mildly curious to see what the heck that is.

I hadn't heard of that either, although apparently it has been since 2000. This year's contest is in the future, but I looked it up on Peacock, and they had highlights from the 2020 Tokyo trampolining contests. It looks like every child's dream of what they will do on a trampoline. Super high jumps, impressive acrobatics... and, yes, mistakes that could lead to injuries, just like when regular people go trampolining.

The only downside I see is that it's scored somewhat opaquely by judges, similar to gymnastics and ice skating. Though at least I can follow two of the four metrics - air time and how centered they stayed on the trampoline - somewhat easily. Difficulty and execution is what's tough for me to follow as a layperson, barring obvious errors.

Aussie women's football got overhyped because they had a good roll with an outstanding striker and managed an unexpected 4th at the women's world cup held in Aust.

Striker Sam Kerr is out with injury and team has basically gone off the boil.
