PETA does it again!

Since when are livestock tortured? What purpose could that possibly serve?

This reminds me, I need to renew my membership to the People for Eating Tasty Animals.

convinience

example, if they are being transported for days, its easier not to stop every hour or 2 to give them food and water
there are many examples, if youre intrested you can prolly find out more on their site

i understand why some people might think this is racist, personally i cant say that i do
they could put up some pictures of white people being killed too, so they wont look racist

to me people are animals too, only smarter..

im not a vegeterian but if i could stop eating red meat, i would

If you are really interested in the answer do a Google search for "Meet Your Meat", it's a short video clip (about three or four minutes) avialable for free download.

Keep in mind (if you don't want to be a vegetarian) that not all animals are treated the way that the animals treated in the video are. There are organic or cage-free raised meat available at any health food store (and even some regular groceries) which not only are better for the animal but taste better as well due to of the absense of hormones and antibiotics and because the animal you are eating led a much healthier life. I used to eat organic meat all the time once I realized how much better it was.

"I think it is an apt comparison," said Josh Warchol, 26, of Wallingford, president of the Southern Connecticut Vegetarian Society, which is aligned with PETA.

Common sense seems to be fasted depleting resource on the planet!
He's 26 years old. He won't be able to diffentiate his butt from a hole in the ground for at least four more years. Likewise feces and Shinola.

Can we please get a statute already that requires anyone who fails an IQ/common sense test to have STUPID branded into their forehead so smart people won't waste time talking to them or listening to them?

Actually, the world could comfortably support more that 60 billion people if need be

How long? That really would be one happy place.

See, here's the thing: herbivorous (prey) animals that are born in the wild, live in the wild, and die in the wild live short, terrifed lives that end in brutal savagery when they are torn limb from limb and consumed while still twitching by predators.

Prey that is farmed lives in relative comfort, with plenty of food, often sheltered from the worst of the elements, protected from predators, and dies relatively painlessly. While it is alive, it is really nothing more than a cornstalk that has meat in its ears, and is morally equivalent to a can of corn.

Meat is not murder. It is sustenance. Get over your pretentious stupid PETA selves, and find a worthy cause to support, like the homeless.

PETA...always good for a nice laugh here and there...

I hope you don't have any pets.

They are nothing but a terrorist organization, along with their buddies: Earth Liberation Front, and Green Peace.

PETA's policies are so idiotic that each time they pull one of these stupid stunts, it makes me hate them even more.

:vomit: How can you possibly say that? an animal is much more than a cornstalk with meat in it's ears. It is a breathing, living animal that has as much as a right to live as humans do. I am not a vegetarian but I have thought about being one many times. Also, I will now eat organic meat whenever I can.

I think what PETA did was to extreme, but what can you expect from a bunch of crazy people? I am a strong supporter of animal rights. They should not be tortured, by tortured I mean, tested for cosmetics, they are put in cages and are tested by scientists putting lipstick and eye shadow and blush on their faces. Also, medicine like eyedrops are put into animals eyes, and they start bleeding and burning. Animal experimintation is evil and MUST be outlawed. Killing animals for fur is evil and MUST be outlawed. However, animals killed for the purposes of replenshing the world's meat supply is fine. Hunting an animal for the hell of it is wrong and MUST be outlawed.

I also wanted to say that there are other orginizations that are like PETA but not as extreme. For instance IFAW, I don't think they are very well known but I have seen commercials for them. They save animals like seals and clean oil of them. Also ARF, (animal rescue force) their website says that they are national but not very big or well known. They save stray animals, and give them shelter and food and find people to adopt them. In fact I will be getting a dog from them in November.

Good to know I'm not the only one digusted by FL's comments.

Cool. Have fun with the dog.

Would you prefer that they tried doing that on Humans? The reason we have animal experimentation is so that if the medicine is harmfull, no humans will get hurt. Animals are barely more intelligent than a rock, and their only value depends on how usefull they are to us humans. I have no problem with animal experimentation(whether for medicine or cosmetics), fur coats, leather, steak or any other animal derived products that I cannot remember at the time. I'm not advocating that we go out and torture animals just for the sake of torturing animals , but if we can get some use out of them we should do it, even if all we get is a fur coat.

I hope some aliens who feel the same way about humans come and kidnapp you.

Cosetics do NOT need to be tested on animals. What exactally is accomplished by sticking lipstick in a rabbit's eye to see what happens?

Call me back when you have a real argument.

I am not in the cosmetics industry, but my bet would be to see what would happen if some idiot puts the stuff in her eye by accident, if it eats through the eye it is probably not something they want to market to the general public because the first accident that happens will cause them to be swamped with lawyers for marketing an unsafe product.

Against a statement like "Animals are barely more intelligent than a rock" I do not need a "real arguement". Your intelligence and compassion speak for themselves.

Go to your local health-food store and they have plenty of products not tested on animals and I doubt any of them will "eat through the eye".

I dunno Narz what do you do with your lipstick. :joke:
:D I don't use it of course and am constantly trying to convince my girlfriend she doesn't need it either (she looks fine without it).

I don't use any cosmetics or lotions. If I get a burn or need to soothe my skin I go outside and cut off a piece of one of the aloe plants growing outside my building. No point in paying $6 for some "new improved lotion - now with aloe vera!" when I got the real deal growing for free naturally.
