Thanks, GreyFox. Your deployment was fine -- my only complaint was that part of our force at Lahore was on a hill without a road. Of course, I had seven turns to correct that and I didn't.
judging that you posted so late, i'd say..."perhaps she did thank you"
anyway, i'm gonna have to agree w/Fox, the situation seems tough, but, i agree, let's not throw in the towel. Though, i can't say that i think we'll be able to win regardless of how many cities we take. We need to kill THREE MORE CIVS to satisfy the variant. Doing that would be enough win for me (since i think we don't even have a chance to actually win this game), but i'm not sure even that's possilbe.
Should we take a vote before we invest anymore 's into this, so to speak?
I vote we continue and eliminate 3 more Civilizations. If we can do that, we declare victory.
Eliminating Catherine's partner will "simply" (ahem) require that we turtle-up in our border cities and avoid getting wiped out by her while we work on making her a widow. We should probably save them for last.
Are there modern-era UUs that we need to be concerned about? I think Catherine's Cossacks were the latest to appear in this game. We don't have German Panzers or American Seals coming up, at least.
Relax ... nobody said anything about giving up ... we will play to the end, of-course. I am just commenting abt the losing streak I'm in whenever pholky appear in the same SG as I am
Our way out is to build lots and lots of cannons ... these cannons are excellent ... well, cannon fodder lol ... when facing superior units (such as infantries).
Okay, i trusted a 2nd-Generation Fox-approved set-up so i just pushed enter, adn I wayyy, i go. . . [ps, i apologize in advance for the autolog report, but you're 1 of 5 people, so back off ]

It's amazing you miss a week (almost went nuts without my internet and my usual alternate place for internet is on holidays you know Christmas and all) and one game is over, and at the beginning of the week some SG's were fighting with maces and now with cavalry.
I see that we continue to war and the battle must go on. Please add me to the roster and apoligize for my absence. It wasn't supposed to take that long but they had trouble pinpointing the problem.
First off ... who said Lahore was devoid of enemy???
Well it is, but that's after I killed it!!!
Then, a tour of the lonely empire reveals another smoke by pholky:
During my tour od the empire, I have also whipped mecilessly at any city with redshirts or starving. Finally, I gave in to the unhappiness issue and started building colosseum and diverting 10% fund to culture.
One more thing I couldn't understand is why have we not moved against the 2 eastern cities north of Rome? Anyway, I did.
wooo... sweet ... all those vessels to be sank ...
We should be allowed to keep those vessels, you know, as loot from war. Imagine Iraq captured one of those American tanks. You think they will burn it??? Of-course not! The least they will do is load it with explosive and get a Jihad fanatic to drive it back to the allies' camp!
Anyway, I was happy to leave it at that and pass the save to the next player at the end of my 10 turns until this happens right at the end of my turnset.
I was anticipating a landing throughout my turnset and was relieved to see no enemy transport and then, booooom, they landed at my last turn. Now, I couldn't possibly leave it at that and pass the game to the next player with a stack looming there, can I?
So, I played on, and decimated that stack. Wasted quite a few cannons. While I am at it, I might as well make Asoka pay for that. So ...
Much better. See the stack of HC up there? Well, apparently he has been hiding there for quite some time (just like the Russian stack near Rome). That damned bastard ... he waited for us to caoture the Indian city, and then, poof!
But since our two newest additions each had some religions in them, the new HC city would be a lot of culture pressure. Serve him right.
Now in the process of moving some cannons west, but don't neglect defenses in the east, because there would bound to be more landings.
Finally, we learn Assembly Line, and a few cities building Rifleman become Infantries.
