PH12: Men in Tights

Got it and can probably play tonight.

I will research Mysticsm -> Masonry and build copper city.

Here is my proposal for city sites.

#1 Copper city
#2 2x deer, cows, clams in west
#3 deer, ivory, wheat, fish in NE

Fully agreed on the city order, though I don't think we'll get the 3rd.
To axe or not to axe ? :trouble:

We need to make sure that we get GW and Pyramids. That delays super early rush. We have good lands nearby so personally I would settle them first and maybe then rush (and use spy revolts).

another thing which delays early rush: all units that can MUST get Woods promo's first!

good turns refar, but you could've played until the settler was done. either way, nice set. I agree on copper city, but also think that we should not let that nice city to our west get settled by Boudica.

And, to the end confusion since rolo seems to think he's up, here's the roster:
pholkhero
Refar >> just played
Meiz >> UP NOW and has it
r_rolo>> on deck and has it, too

Turn 43 - 46
Change research to Mystiscm and revolt to slavery couple of turns later. Settler gets whipped for 2 pop and capital starts building a warrior. Forest chop is later diverted to worker.

Turn 47
Meet Frederic of Greece. Lion redlines one of our warriors. Other one ends up next to a bear :(

Turn 48
Warrior beats the bear! And with 1.6 health left :)

Turn 50
Eridu is settled, start warrior. Capital grows and continues to build worker.

Turn 52 - 53
Another warrior meets bear... And bear moves away! I guess they have learned a lesson ;)

Turn 54
Meet Charlemagne of Babylonia. Capital completes worker and starts another warrior for fog busting. Since we can't yet build a quarry, our new worker starts to chop forest.

Turn 55 - 56
Exploring warrior runs away from bear, right next to another bear :crazyeye: He kicks some ass and gets woodsman II promotion.

Turn 57
Capital grows to size 4 and starts settler.

Bears keep pestering us, run away!

Turn 59
Bad news...

Turn 61
Whip settler for 2 pop and stop my round. Second city can start GW as soon as Masonry is finished.

Here is another suggestion for our next city.

good turns, and i agree on our next city; which we should get out asap. too bad about that other site, but oh well.

i don't know how crowded we'll be, but remember we want to win by culture, so i guess we can get some early war to get 9 cities if we want. In any case, we should get as many religions as possible since the cathedral culture multipliers may be well worth it.

So, now when rolo comes to post his turns, he can see here's really UP NOW!

lurker's comment: It's Boudica. Remember unrestricted leaders

Uh... i totally forgot obout Woodsman. No super early rush then :D

Dotmap looks good.

rolo is way past his 48 here, so if he doesn't post something w/in 6 hrs hence, pawelo is UP NOW.

let's get this game moving ~ :goodjob:

Played until turn 85... oh God, this turns take sooooo long to pass.

When avaliable I settled in marked spot
Spoiler :

And finished Masonry. Research set in Polytheism ( path to Priesthood and richer in wonders than Meditation )
Spoiler :

Next turn we got a somewhat :crazyeye: bonus
Spoiler :

Some turns later a disturbing event:
Spoiler :

Boudi got Henge..... this means that we'll lose the cultural battle for Kish cows :gripe: And taking in account that Boudi is Cha, she'll get a extra :) in every city *greed starts to boil in his hearth*

We met a new foe
Spoiler :

Kind of :crazyeye: ... and bad combo too

In turn 85.....
Spoiler :

And here I drop the game.....

Regards

We are somewhat hemmed between Bizantium and Incas. By now that is not a big issue ,but we'll need to open our path by the sword.... I started to build vultures if next player want to go war like. Capital is set in a settler for the Ivory spot but no hammers invested.

As for next tech Priesthood is a no-brainer... but what to do next?

And sorry for the pass over the 48h limit... I was hoping to get home a lot sooner

Good turns, we got the GW! :)

About opening path with swords, I would still settle all spots available while heading towards Alphabet. We also need to build the Pyramids as soon as possible as I don't see any way of winning this without it.

Building Pyramids delays super early rush and rushing with woodsman promoton units isn't very effectice and comes with heavy costs. I would rather war using war elephants and spy revolts.

But what does rest of the team think?

Woodsman rush seems not very appealing also everyone but Justy is below us in score... :(
There is some land left - grab the sites towards Justy first, then settle one or two cities in the East should be enougt.

About culture battle for cows... A easy yet effective solution would be to road between Uruk/Kish to connect Kish to the Marbles, then Chop the Oracle in Kish - it will come in cheap, andprovide a ton of culture...

Got it here!

I may need the whole 48 to play it also... Due to my alarm clock I missed the morning playing spot

Good idea :goodjob:

Edit: btw. can we take anything we want from Oracle? I guess so...

You can always take something you want from the Oracle :D
