Well, I'm a little upset that every single one of my screenshots failed. At least I have windows' version of a screenshot to save me.
It's a bit of a pity, because we miss the screenshots of our the local fauna mauling our warriors. In the east, our warrior was beat pretty badly by a lion, and without even a moment to catch his breath had to run several turns from a second lion. He lost the lion, rested up, and is now back to scouting new lands.
He found a friend, too! An archer from Qin Shi Huang is running around the eastern forests. Again, no pretty screenshot of Qin Shi's mug -- apparently he's not very photogenic because the screenshot is nowhere to be found.
In the west our warrior was fortified in the forest, ready to take on all comers. He got eaten by the first lion to see him. This made settling New York a bit more problematic -- 2 lions roaming about and 1 warrior to defend the settler with. The founding was delayed a few turns, but eventually the lions died and New York was built upon their bones.
Our tech rate went Mysticism -> Wheel. I'm thinking Masonry -> AH come next, maybe Sailing or Pottery after that. The worker had a few turns where he wasn't sure what to do: so he pre-chopped a forest for one turn. Then when he reached New York he realized that he could pre-chop another forest for a turn in order to time the arrival of The Wheel with the finishing of the Bronze mine. So we have 2 forests marked by signs that have 1 turn of pre-chopping on each.
New York is currently working on a Monument, and is 7 turns from finishing that. So 22 turns from the border pop to the stone. In Washington we built a Warrior for an MP and now we are working on a second worker.
Not much more to note, your basic early building turns. We probably need to get a couple fog busters and a commerce city going, and once the axes are online will be fine from any barbs. Being on a peninsula will help a lot in homeland defense.
