PH19: The RNGod Must Be Crazy

Playing an SG with pholkhero is so much fun you hardly notice you can't load the save.

good grief ~ forgot BUG was my default civ ~

cripes ~ should i reroll vanilla bts or should we honor the RNGod and play from Ruff's save (if he would be so kind as to post)

maybe chasing religion was all just a bad dream

If I can load Ruff's save, then go for that.

Here is the save from my game. I founded a religion. Do we need a Civ goal?

That save loads. :)

Assuming LK can play my save (and, from memory, I don't auto load any mods) ...
Spoiler :
First Global Objective (1d6=4, 1d6=3) which is 4 x 3 = 12 or ...
Prod Prob Objective
---- ---- ---------
12 4/36 Spread our religion to 3 cities
Is there a time frame?

That save loads. :)
YAY!

And so the Tribe formally known as BORING that was set on a life of predictability suddenly was exposed to the stochastic forces of the universe. They relished this type of life, no more did they know what was for dinner tonight ... or tomorrow ... or for the next 17 weeks! To celebrate this event ... and because a random collection of birds flew in a formation that sort of looked like instructions ... they set themselves to spreading this new Randomism religion to at least 3 other cities
Spoiler :
... even before they knew what another city looked like!

 thanks for saving the day, o mighty one ~ did you roll 5d6 + 20 for a turn limit to spread the faith??

I looked for a time limit ... didn't see it in the posts above. Thanks for the info.

Wait ... you mis-read that bird formation. Ok, well ... you read part of it ... see the clouds in the background ... they say that we have to do this in ... in ... 39 turns.

'Turns' ... what is a turn?
I have no idea!
Then why did you say it?
Did you see the type of bird?

I have a bad feeling punishment is coming up. :(
This early I don't see how we can spread religion to three cities!

3680 BC
The tribal leaders scratch their heads. We have been asked to spread the holy word, yet we know of no other cities to spread it to. They feared the wrath of the RNGod...

We have a worker due in seven turns, but he will have nothing to do but twiddle his thumbs. I swap techs to the wheel so that at least he can start laying roads. We will want pottery soon enough.

3480 BC
This is just ugly. I just found Washington of the Arabs on our skinny land mass.

3280 BC
This is atypical for me, but I start on sailing next. We can't get past Washington until open borders. Even then, I don't know if he connects to the land above. We *need* to explore up there.

3200 BC
I go indecisive, and switch toward Bronze working. We are going to need the whip to get moving.

2960 BC
There are civs on the landmass above as Asoka of Babylon says hello.

2760 BC
As the Korean Bismarck to the list of civs.

2600 BC
I popped the hut by our capitol, but all I got was lousy experience.

2360 BC
We revolt to slavery. I select sailing as a place holder tech.

We have a warrior in 4 and growth in 4. After that, we should get the settler out.

good turns, lee, though maybe your initial thought was correct: if there's no more land, sailing might've been more useful in the short term, esp if we have to spread our religion. Of course, we also need a monastery, as well :( what to do, what to do :dunno:

can't see get to the save until tonight, so here's a rough approximate of objectives

1) t008 ~ Spread our religion to 3 cities: In Progress until t048.

Got it.

Spread religion to 3 cities by T48. We're on T41, sailing T50, settler T50+. We may not achieve our objective.

Ran Dumb is a Jealous God, quick to anger and slow to forgive.

I went with Bronze to be able to whip. We do want to get at least once more city on our land mass.
Stone, fish and deer on a river will be a decent city.

LK: I'm not criticising your play. Just an impossible requirement on this map at this stage of the game.

did you roll a personal objective?

oooo ~ good point, ruff ~ but i *think* in the holiday spriirt, the RNGod may forgive that terrible affront (*ahem*) this time.

i'm also think the good, wise and beneficent RNGod :worship: might make an allowance on tihis first objective, say, doubling the turn limit since its so early into the game and we've got but one city.

in addition, perhaps (and speaking from a terrible lack of experience in the RNGod games) we should forego personal objectives until we've completed one-time through the roster ~ until Rolo plays his set next time around. as per usual with PH gmaes, my eyes are bigger than my stomach

so, let's keep the Global Objective rolling until T087.
