PH19: The RNGod Must Be Crazy

so, if my interpretation skills are accurate, we have 35 turns to capture a city with new resources.

so, we hope for Iron and another settler for that, quickly hook up iron, and go smashing. we'll also need to scout out arabia to find a city with a resource we can take.

Seeing our available land I think war with the Arabs is inevitable.
20 2/36 Capture a city with new resources [2]
I think Imhotep and the RNDGod are on the same page.

That "fun" part is Medina has NO new resources. We need to capture Mecca for the corn to complete this.

I think I'll lurk this. It's an interesting variant. What difficulty is it?

Ok, got it .. but have to play my own SG before . Most likely will not play this until Monday.

P.S Do we really have to capture Medina ? The city is basically worthless ... IMHO is better to simply raze it .p

all we really need is Mecca with its new resource ~ also remember to roll a personal objective for your turnset. I think you should probably play 15 turns from now on in peace, 10 in war.

@verarde ~ i actually stole teh idea from another SG, but its certainly interesting. I think we're on monarch but not too sure actually

Unless you are in Japan or something similar, it is still not Monday. And I'm still more delayed that I was expecting ( long story short, lil sis made 17, got ill disposed in party, sunday morning in the hospital ... :/ )

Ok, just played 10 turns, up to IW ... in fact that was the main reason for playing 10 turns only. We sorta have iron ...

First of all , the personal objective ...

Seriously ...

That, according with our wise SG leader means to have a border pop ... That base is covered:

Given our global objective I decided to push the research up to IW ... 10 turns of research. But besides that, the set was quite underwhelming ... this was the highlight of it:

Well, it is a nice refresh from the WW I played in my SG yesterday and the WW that will need to play in "They're all barbarians" next...

Anyway, I whipped some granaries and started some barracks having the eyes in making some decent units ... and then we got to t10, when we got IW.

In the left is the tab screen ... just some assorted intel on how backwards we are :p .You can see the iron right next to our borders in the right side of the screen. Estimated time to get it inside our territory : 12 turns

So, I think it is a good idea to stop here and ask if we wait for iron and go axes on Sal or if we spam dogs and pray ... Both timelines are very tight , if you ask me.

Waiting for some input before starting the set.

Dogs just suck as city attackers unless the defender has no archers - which the AI always have. I don't think we can get the cap with just dogs. So I'd go for connecting the iron as fast as possible, get some dogs in the mean time as cover and then go all swords.

i think thats probably the way to go too ~ swords and crossed fingers.

Planning to play with ASAP culture to grab iron, and get some swords

I'm not sure that rushing a monument will speed things up. We still have to make the roads to there anyway ... and to add, the city has still 8 turns of whip anger and i would prefer to whip a axe/sword later ....

I went to play, but I have no clue how many turns left to capture city with resources.
Can somebody let me know how many?

Then I can roll a personal objective and get it going.

And with that a second fish jumps out of the river and lands at the wise man's feet. It flips and flops 35 times and then spills its guts in 2 groups, one with 4 twists and one with 5 (2nd Global Task (1d6=4, 1d6=5)).

I think rolo's set started at T81 and he played 10 turns. You have until T116.
