Pharaoh

Thebes allready has built wonders, so it has great people points....but, looking back at the save, Paris does have more potential to be a better Natl Epic.

If we get a Great Merchant....its close either way. It shows 323 turns left and if we assume that at best, we can win in 200 turns or less and we assume that the trade mission will bring us 1200 -1400, then with the commerce multipliers, settling him will be best for now either in the natl Epic city or the future Wall Street. I vote for settling a Great Merchant in paris for the Extra food if Paris becomes the natl Epic city.

Dont forget, we need to build the AP production multipliers in cities. Plz change the courthouse in Memphis to a Monastary and Temple first.

As for me, we should use the first GP on the Confu Shrine.
BTW, is Divine Rights is bulbable throught the GP ?
If so, building Versailles would do us greatly, as our empire grows larger.

I have always problems with natonal wonders, so I have no objection to your proposals.

As for the war, I propose we finish off Gandhi and execute cabledawg's plan regarding Gigli on the same turn set, to keep our WW at low level.

Anyway, I think under Metahu-Ptah reign, we are sure our culture will have no match in the known world :)

Anyway, I think under Metahu-Ptah reign, we are sure our culture will have no match in the known world :)

You bet! :king:

And it is Thah! Metahu Thah!

Anyway, I won't be playing for some hours! So much to do! Have to write down a lot of our strategies and plans for future, and who governs which cities, and who needs more cities, who has NO cities at all and etc! And weekend is not so good for me because my girlfriend is home, and only in her computer CIV works! But she is also addicted to computers(not CIV) and I gotta beg her to have 1 hour!

Anyway, expect it by afternoon(Central-European time, it is 11:00 AM now!). And plus the report of my nice story! :crazyeye:

How many turns to play by the way?

And who wants to take the war against Gil? I am better at cultural wars than normal wars!

How about Cabledawg for the war on Gilgamesh if we do go for that option.

Sounds good! I am going to try to play now...
Is it 15 turns?? Well, I will play it.

I just played some of the worst turns in my life on this game! Wow, bad luck bad luck.

I won't even put pictures as I only played 4 turns. First because my girlfriend started to annoy, but mainly because I want some decisions now!

I played from turn 177 to 181. I was trying to follow your city commands as much as possible! Anyway, second(third?) turn and Cathy declared war on Gil! I started to move most of the troops from Rheims to the rice between his two most southern cities. Time to dog pile? The Council shall decide, as your king is pretty lousy at wars.

I was in doubt between compass or Divine right, I choose divine right, but it has only one turn on it.
Then a **** stole our freaking literature tech!
2 turns later = Great Library built freaking far away. Sistene Capel built in the end of the world.
ZzzzZZZ.
Then we got a great Priest in Orleans and I quited.

So, if you guys don't want the war just yet, I can play more later today, but if war is coming, I recommend governor Cabledawg to lead us into oblivion.

And what I do in Paris by the way? Go with scientists anyway?

Lousy report by: Metahu Thah II.

Uh, the save, sure! :mischief:

Attached here.

GL
Sistine
Gilga vs Cathy :goodjob: ( BTW, who is winning? We should follow Truman's doctrine: wait and see who is winning and then strike them by the backs. We have reasons to attack both, so it doesn't matter who we DoW ( of course that it implies diferent tactics ;) )

P.S save, please

What got me pissed is that literature got stolen! It wouldn't happen with the last patch!

And, only 1 or 2 turns later, GL built. Hum, did anybody see a GE born last turns? :mischief:

Save is one post above yours!

And nothing telling who is winning the war so far!

Ill be glad to take the save and go to war. I do think going after gilly is the right thing to do. I looked at the save and no city is building military right now...Ill need to change that on a few. Ill also need to turn research off for a few turns to upgrade some units.

Cyrus has paper and we are in danger of losing liberalism. We should change research to that path....Paper, Education, Philo.

Ill use the Prophet for the shrine in Orleans....I want to run 2 scientist in Paris and we'll get another great person in 14 turns. Theres still a hill in paris not mined and Ill take care of that as well. lemmee know if governors have additional needs. Ill play this evening.

Wen Amon need a more solid defense, because ( if we are going after our beared ex-friend ) it will take a lot of damage. Whip a archer or two there... I also request that Nibru will be the first objective of the war... Those dyes will make a diference in the :) cap and Nibru cuts both land and coastal routes from ex-India to our main land ( we still don't have Optics....)

Now will go back to Fox-07 .....

I vote on DoW'ing Gigli with Cathy on our side. I simply like his land better, and it will put us in great position on our continent.

Cabledawg, you have my trust regarding going to the war

Hard luck king Metahu That, maybe we should kill you and transfer the capital away :)

Kill me not, as I shall lead you to bigger glory than a simple big library! You shall see!

About my Holy cities; Be careful with Bombay being too near of the enemy! I hope it is well defended? I remember of only seeing an average garrison in the cities of that area! If it needs more soldiers, build it! if not, build happiness buildings there, I do believe? I think the happiness cap was low there no? Darn, I can't check the save right now hehe.

And Heliopolis, our beloved capital; CULTURE IS THE WORD. 'nuff said.

Good luck, temporary War Lord Cabledawg! Because, shall you fail... :trouble:

I agree with the attack on Gilgamesh led by Cabledawg.

The loss of GL is not so bad. We will benefit greatly from some of Sumeria.

Also scientists to try to bulb some of Edu etc, and the turndown of tech for a few turns. Maybe Gandhi should wait, but Cabledawg can decide that.

I dont expect gilgamesh to have a big force to attack Bombay and Wen Amon, but better safe than sorry.

we are in slavery which is good . Perhaps a switch to Theocracy. Edit ; we dont have religion and it's good to not annoy Cathy.

Thebes, military builds for the war as General sees fit

AI stealing literature , clever AI.

(Edit, Arlborn, those missionary pump signs can come off ,Alt S , it was just a reminder.)

Built Kong
Civ4ScreenShotA1.jpg

Since we have turns vested into compass, I leave it there and turn research to 0 for some upgrades.
Deleted Missionary pump signs as it sounds too sexual.
Hire 2 scientist in paris (14 turns)
Start a xbow in Wen Amon
In VOK, I cant whip the temple for 2 pop, so i start a monastary to be whipped for 2 pop the next turn and the overflow should finish the temple.
I fire the priest in Orleans and whip the courthouse for 2 pop....and press enter

Turn 1
Civ4ScreenShotA2.jpg

Cathy wants our help even though im not ready yet. I get a negative if i refuse even if i go to war after this request. I mull over this before deciding to go to war anyway.

Wen Amon....Xbow...Xbow
Bombay...whipped Xbow for 2 pop
Orleans...whipped forge for 2 pop....seeing a pattern yet?
When a city is small and has food....I whip the crap outta it. Our larger cities have the production where whipping isnt efficient.

I kept the city...it has 3 seafood and we have Collosus, so itll pay for itself quick. We should whip the crap outta this place and put Moai here. Ive got a missionary heading here as well.

Wen Amon after Ghandi is gone

Razed Nibru...we cant afford it now.
Civ4ScreenShotA12.jpg

Razed Nubian at the cost of 7 cats. It was loaded and on a hill. I still had to use every unit we had to attack.
Civ4ScreenShotA13.jpg

I had to take peace. I used all the units to attack including our medic 3 chariot. He would have been fishbait if i didnt. I couldnt get any techs or capitulation.
Civ4ScreenShotA14.jpg

I never converted to a religion nor used theocracy. I didnt want to upset cathy till it was time to upset her (read...go to war with the ho)

Cyrus is annoyed with us. I suggest more military including more cats for the ones i lost for a better standing army.

Our current builds

Id like to claim Lagash as my city. The WB coming out of Thebes can go right on the whales as optics finishes up next turn.

the save

Wow .

Hard core game-talk ; I see we are teching at 30% in the green so understand why you didnt hold those two cities, but won't Cathy just settle them under our nose?

Heroic Epic could go in now that we are having a breather. Paris wasn't it?

After Optics, Thebes can build the Caravel or two,
then tech? I'm thinking Guilds or Engineering , one of those military techs anyway.

Pikes will help against those Russain elephants if Cathy (or the patch) goes psycho.

Thread talk ; claiming the city after fighting for it is a good idea. I regret messing that up, and the other generals should have got their spoils. Sorry about that, Hazimanibag and Pawelo. Hopefully you guys can swoop on the next cities.

RP talk ; All hail general Cabledawg. You really know how to use that whip.

Great war Cabledawg! But I am not sure about raze those cities, and remember that there are 2 advisers with NO city and 2 governors with only one city, but you did well, and if you want this city, it shall be yours! Bring in the best Sumerian female slaves to his bed as well!

Next war should go in the hands of General Hakizamanabag II, if he accepts so. And then, hopefully we can give cities to who needs one!

Should I play the 10 turns of peace? Or we may need more turns to rebuild our military? I can play them without problems soon.

In truth, I am going to play 10~ turns now and build up a bit our army + caravels.

Should I send missionaries on the caravels? JHum.
