Pick Ryan and blame the loss on Conservative GOPs

It won't go down like that. When Romney loses, they will say they need a "true conservative" and get even more extreme.

I know we all like to joke about Romney's perceived lack of confidence and general vigor here, but I think accusing him of mapping out escape routes in case of failure is going a bit too far.

Well this is a nice cynical argument, If Romney is going down he will make sure that the conservative/tea party types take a full share of the blame.

If his campaign crashes and burns, then the Tea Baggers will blame the Massachusetts Liberal RINO Romney and push the party farther to the crazies. If we are lucky that shift would cause enough moderates and not quite insane people to say "eff it" and break the party nationally.

And Romney has had one goal in life for quite a while, become President, and he will do anything and everything to achieve that. He will not throw in the towel.

Why is Romney so damn clumsy with diplomacy and protocol, suggesting he will order the British to return THEIR bust of Churchill, I can hear Cameron's reply now, with the second word being off.
A new start with the Brits who are all Anglo-Saxons, managing to get a right wing UK paper asking, who invited him.
One can only imagine the Ambassador he would send to the Court of St James with the book of Mormon to hand.

You might as well, unless you want another 4 years of suck.

You were around when the Republicans were last in, yes? They would be a goverment of ineffectivenss and general not a safe guard for liberty.

Diplomatically I am hoping the Republicans lose or we Brits are going to have to deal with a man who committed dishonour when visiting London and committed a "observation" in Israel that was founded not on awareness.

Well, let's face it...
Super conservative Republicans are the reason the Repubs suck.
So, yeah, pick one for the ticket, and it is a problem.

As an independent, I'm debating whether to give Romney my support now.
Nah dont do a lesser of two evils thing, try to find a third party person you agree with, if you cant find one, dont vote. Dont feel obligated to buy into this rubbish of which pile of garbage is the least rotten.

As a comedian once said: "the Democrats are the party of no ideas, the Republicans are the party of bad ideas."

Am I the only one who thinks Romney will win?

Yeah, but you people brought Clegg into government. Fair's fair.

Statistically, a Romney win was already dicey, relying on his campaign performing more or less perfectly in the major swing states. Ryan screws them out of multiple important swing states and only helps him contend in Wisconsin.

The First-Past-the-Post system is fair? That the power of the Murdoch's Empire to do kingmaker is fair?

Also it is not Clegg who is leading goverment. Heck he is rather following then actualy serving as the leader of a political party.

Yeah, and I don't really want Romney to win, either. Just sayin'. :p

I much liked it when New Labour ran the UK. They made for great sock-puppets. Ah, the good old days.

O New Labour, the TRAITORS! They went in the authoritarian direction! They got leaded by a populist! They permitted corporalism.

Both New Labour and the Tories are ineffective. Their dominion has not served well Britian.

I guess my support for indepedence for Scotland and Wales is to save the Scots and my new home from the mess...

Win! = Validation! Get more conservative!
Loss!?! = Push harder! Get more conservative!
Disaster! = God is punishing us! Get more conservative!
Prosperity! = God is rewarding us! Get more conservative!

I'll sooner not vote than go 3rd party.

I actually reconsider the campaign points of the two main factors (Obama vs Romney)... because, like it or not, lesser of the two is all that matters in the USA.

Out of curiosity, why? Not worth the trouble, or is there a political motive as well?
