PIE's Ancient Mediterranean on Deity

Rectification. We have to get the smoking hut! It allows us to get a free :health: (originally, the smoking hut was simply allowing the cow, pigs, livestock to give more health, but now it's given naturally with pastures in the latest version of PAE) and 10% on food bar after growth. Basically a mini-granary. Perfect for regrowth.

Yeah, I mentioned the smokehouse above. good stuff.

me, homeslice. Play is in a bit.

Ok...sorry. i keep getting pulled away by calls. You think your "off" but you never really are..ugh

Starting in a few minutes.

Trade Spokes or don't trade Spokes?

Had a quick look at this mod now, initial impression is lol at the slaves!
Just how does the slave revolt mechanic work as if it isn't harsh they are incredibly broken.
And with Archery units having ranged attacks with collateral thoughts would be it would allow us to make use of that allegiance promotion on mop up units to maximise slaving/capturing. Between captured units and slaves you may never need to build units in cities when you reach a critical mass.

The very early availability of Commando is interesting too....

Your few minutes are entering a new category I see. :)
Don't trade it away as I said before. Hatshe has nothing exceptional for now to give as a trade.

Understand why I play deity here. But be careful about thinking wars are that easy. It depends. This game as a strong skew towards defense. Ranged attacks have a limit btw.
Indeed about the critical mass thing.

Isn't slave revolts simply free all you slaves and ready to gooble your city? I think it's harsh if you don't intent putting 5 units each city.

Another turnset of mine: Mini-Turnset

Our civ was at stakes. Still, I trolled the AI and we got out victorious. Croesus is even willing a peace deal. But we shall continue the rampage. Any peace would mean less slave factory, diplo hit at the next DoW and the very fact we allow Croesus to become stronger. Let him spend all his resources on units!

I'm short on time, thus here's the Imgur album for screenies. Easy to scroll down for lazy guys.

Out of curiosity, Gph, from the post about how broken are several mechanics, is that a way to mean you're no longer interested?

There's always a way to make a game harder if found too easy. Like augmenting AI bonuses at a certain point, Destroying the concept of desertion, etc.

PAE is easy to modify because primarily based on XML and python. Only SDK requires difficult recompilation and PAE simply has nothing changed from the regular BTS. XML and python changes are automatic.

Yeah, I meant how quickly revolts become a likely occurence more than anything, though it obviously won't affect rush building.

Don't worry I am still interested, mechanics are fun to abuse :p

@Lymond. The tweak about deforestation worked. The game ran smoothly without problems too. It was awesome to keep forests instead of losing everything in like a century. Not to mention it's a capital tweak in favor of the AI's because they do not chop but also tend to lose all their forests in no time with their unrestrained mass unit production.

Nice! BTW, I knew the existence of the broken exercise in this mod. And that is why I bumped to deity asap to give a chance to the AI.

Still, with a terrible start and leader combined, deity PAE could have been a more masochistic experience than the original BTS. But that's not my goal.

Well, I see patience may not be one of your virtues there Tachy  I apologize for my absence. I had actually played a few turns and, ofc, noticed the stack.

By the way, I had checked the tech trade 1st turn and Hatty would have given us all 3 techs, but I did not do it as you suggest. A few turns later she had Spoked Wheels. Looks like we got something for it though. Archery would have been nice though.

Good job handling that stack. Did you get more slaves? I saw a pic of what appear to be sacrificing our workers, but did not see the results. I guess you sold them.

Ah! We have a VIP Lurker. Good to see you, Kos!
