PIE's Ancient Mediterranean on Deity

yeah maybe copper is okay. If there is seafood we can still WB later from some coastal city for moar health and possibly food for the city.

Copper it is. Hut to be popped momentarily

Not sure I caught gist of what GHP said.

Silk gives a happy yes

we do lose lake though

Me either, but he basically said that slaves are overpowered and the downside of them so weak. Also talked about unit desertion being too strong and advantageous to the human because all we need to do is weaken the units (ranged attacks) and reap free units. What he didn't see is when attacking a city, this desertion system can lead to catastrophes. Especially early when lowering defenses is frikkin' slow with basic rams (-2% each! for cities with like 100-200% defense!).

How so we lose the lake? Lighthouse takes millenia before being accesible for build. One another horrible implementation for balance (think AI's stuck in watery peninsula), but I can't change this one.

One important detail important to be known in PAE is you can settle cities as near as two tiles away from a city square, just like CivIII or some earth maps. I did not mention it because I didn't want to settle any capital's BFC tile, but settling diagonally 2 tiles is possible now.

then I think that is where we should settle then. I don't think I know that.

looks like water to west veers around to Numid lands

Got a free worker from hut. kinda nice although gold is better. I got 40 gold from another hut.

There's also the Allegiance Promo that increases capture odds

ack! Merchants don't load. In fact they carry cargo as well...not sure why one would ever do that though.

that city placement will slow access to silk though

Merchant carts can travel in enemy lands (without OB or at war) while using the roads. Perhaps, it's camouflage ability. You hide a unit inside (just like the caravel in regular BTS) and goes through their lands. Still, given merchant carts have a RNG to be attacked by robbers in foreign lands, I wouldn't do that.

another emigrant. Settler soon. Save for new city? add to city 3? or settle new city?

Woah! Two emigrants like that! 2% per turn turns out to be like 20%.
I wonder. You see, if you can't afford the cash for another improvement, a new city has no use. Do you know why I wished to settle on that copper: because mining improvement cost a fortune, that is 30 :gold:.
I trust you for this but try to balance cash, improvement and settling. Settling too much may lead to no gpt at 50% and that is problematic.

Ok..let's just go for copper/horse/silk for now and I will add the emigrant. That at least blocks the north.

oh...i know about mines. I've gotten some gold from huts but tech is slow.. It's hard to not want to improve stuff.

Nubians can tech trade. I gifted them a couple of cheap techs to improve diplo, so we can trade for Mercs, but they are not quite there and I don't want to give any more. there are still OB points to kick in I believe.

We've met Germans and there is hint of civ across see to EASt.

I assume we will cottage most everything that has food already.

I'm gonna keel that Ursus soon

Cottages are king with limitation to 50% tax slider; people complain when we rise much more, just like americans :p.

I hope you meant the bear, not Urus.

nah...i'm gonna kill that beast  ...with chariot/archer snipes

yep...slow as testes

what do you think of this:

We can get Mercs plus any 1 of those other 3 cheap techs. I know we don't want Axes. Boat Building could be good for Trade routes later. Vine to reveal wine maybe. I'm fine with any of those 3.

I like that trade. I don't think Wine is a resource by itself. It needs grapes, which is already uncovered by Agri and there are some near the Lydians. I saw them in the first expedition.

That german looks downright weak! Egyptians, on the other hand, superbly strong. One good thing with PAE, somehow, is that strong ones will have more difficulty to gobble weaker ones because of those overpowered warriors.

Cedars...me want to see some of them. It's an awesome resource for both shipbuilding and :health:.
