Also, I do not buy this "If I can't afford it then its ok" argument. If you can afford a computer, then you can afford the occasional game. Its a matter of priorities. If you want to buy Civ4, then you are gonna have to do without that new pair of jeans.

Or if I pirate game now, and buy its sucessor five years from now on when I have an actual job?

There are a lot of games I dont buy. That doesnt mean I think I should go steal them then. To me, if its not worth buying, then why in the hell would it be worth the risk of stealing it?

Yes, you can argue they don't have a right to copy them, but the point is that it doesn't affect your price, nor is it equivalent to stealing in any other way.

If I get a weekend job now that I am headed back to school father would have bigger fit then when I stopped going to school. But no it does not make it okay. It makes it so that I cannot afford it, what is so hard to understand?

If every game costed 10-20$ I wouldn't have to pirate them. Or if we lived in Western World. When I was younger my father would spend tens of hours pirating single game. If games were cheaper or he was payedas his western coleagues he would never bother.

And yes the internet costs my family as if it bought new game every month. Alas it is is necessity and not luxury as father needs it for his work.

Many of you do not go to jail for the same reason that many people that steal CDs in stores do not go to jail: Theft of $50 products generally does not warrant jail time as punishment. The other reason is that copyright infringement laws are difficult to enforce on a retail level.

Poor people shouldn't be playing computer games or listening to musics, they should be working in their sweatshops making cheap shoes or clothings 16 hours a day! Well i will certainly question if someone is poor, if they can afford a computer or a discman, if you are semi poor i can certainly understand why you would pay for a pirated copy of something, temptation is too much.

That is possibility. I never bought Civ I after all. (though as I said before bough the Blade of Destiny few years back). But I buy most computer games I pirate. Or at least buy another games from same company. That said thanks Bethesda for freeing Arena!

Just because you live in a poor country, you think it's okay to steal? Wow, that is lame. You do not need Civ or any game, they are not essential. If this was food or essentials, I would say "Go Ahead." But, no, you're stealing a video game for your own pleasure. Yoou don't need Civ to be able to live.
