There was another thread. It is now closed!

Most of its contents are irrelevant to this topic, but this one isn't:

How do you feel about the fact that chicken is an absolute bottom-tier ingredient for Pizza?
I disagree! Chicken can be good on pizza, but its contingent on the other ingredients.

A popular yet vexing set of pizza ingredients here in Japan is tuna, corn, and mayonnaise. Tuna and corn, those are acceptable and questionable, respectively. Mayonnaise, particularly of the Japanese variety, I don't think mixes with the two at all.

What goes on your pizza?

I should eat dinner soon, I'm hungry.

There's a pizza/pasta chain here called Family Pizza, and their Chicken Taco pizza is one of the best combinations I've ever had. The ingredients include chicken, taco sauce, sour cream, lettuce, and cheddar cheese (though I find that too strong; it overpowers the other toppings, so I ask to substitute mozzarella cheese).

In my experience, basically anything can go on pizza. I'm pretty traditional myself though.

Last night, for example, I made these two:
  • Tomato, shredded mozzarella, chicken, pesto, halved cherry tomatoes and extra basil (because why not).
  • Tomato, shredded mozzarella, cured ham, (fresh) pineapple, mild red chillis and (on my half only) sliced black olives.
Both came out well. The fresh pineapple really makes a difference. The only thing I could improve is by making my own dough. Too much of a hassle with young children though - maybe in a coupla years :)

Can't eat pizza much. There's some decent chicken pizza but prefer other flavours.

Had some weird ones over the years. Not a fan of seafood pizza.

Family Pizza had a seafood pizza. The main ingredients were crab, shrimp, and cocktail sauce. It was WONDERFUL.

But I guess not enough people around here liked it. It was removed from the menu. :(

Taco pizza
TACO PIZZA! That's something that I forgot exists. When it is decent again, I will have to find taco pizza somewhere.

Italians should start making sushi with tomatoes and olive oil, as a revenge.
The same ingredients are also used in some conveyor belt sushi restaurants. Perhaps these ingredients have a high profit margin and thus explains their ubiquity.

Could you make a gyro into a pizza? :hmm:

Gyros are delicious but difficult to eat. Reformatting to a pizza shape may partially relieve this difficulty.

I have never put chicken on pizza, I have always gone for the stronger flavours. My favourite ingredients:
  1. By far the most important is anchovies. They just seem to add just the right sort of umami to just about every pizza
  2. They the things that I most like are not meats:
    1. Mushrooms
    2. Garlic
    3. Onions
The other choice is pesto or tomato sauce, which is probably the major determinant of the sort of pizza it is. However:

Tomato ... pesto

Both??????? :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye:

I don't like seafood much in general shellfish in particular.

Bit of fried cod or Hoki occasionally.

I rarely eat pizza, when I do, prefer thin pepperoni.
Pesto made out of sundried tomatoes is good, sometimes eat it just with bread or toast.

Basic pepperoni with cheesy crust is good.

Yum Pizza in St Pete looked nice.

I mean, I've had kebab pizza before, so yeah not implausible. Heck, if you prefer flatbread to pizza crust, just do an open gyros - problem solved!

Dollops of pesto on top of the cheese and other toppings, yup. I don't often put basil in my tomato sauce; when I do put a herb in it's normally oregano (which also often goes on top, but I forgot this time around for the modified Hawaiian).

My tomato sauce is also (basic) but homemade. Half crushed tomatoes / chunky passata, half smooth passata, bit of olive oil, lemon juice, black pepper, oregano, and lots of crushed garlic. Sometimes chili flakes for a little bit of spice.

I can see it. I like basil and parmesan on pizza, so it would work. I may try it.

We are going to have pizza today for lunch: veggie all the way including artichoke hearts!

One if the nicest pizzas we had involved artichokes and cherry tomatoes.

Domino's bought that chain out though.

We get our pizza from Pizza9

Jagna has a mom & pop place which make an excellent vegetarian pizza :yumyum: plus they deliver. No one else in my household likes it, so I also get a Hawaiian :undecide:.
Frankie's in the ICM mall make a wonderful barbequed chicken pizza. :yeah:
Greenwich in ICM which puts together an Overload--everything but pork. :yup:
Once upon a time, a place in the BQ mall sold Mexican pizza : refried beans instead of pizza sauce, corn, olives, green peppers, onions, etc. including corn chips. Alas, BQ raised the rent and drove it out. It move across the causeway to Panglao island and changed its name...to something I can't remember. Now, I can't find it.
We tried Shakey's in the City Square Mall when it first opened. I'll never go back.
Pizza Hut in BQ is our island's oldest pizzeria.:old: They keep changing their menu.
