In my experience, over ~5 years of playing online in various stakes after ~6 months of fake chips, it makes a huge difference. People DO care about a few cents way more than they do fake chips, and you get much higher quality play. If someone is playing .01/.02, they probably only have a few dollars in their 'bank' and they don't want to lose a dollar in a big hand.

I don't play fake chips anymore, it's crap.

I'm up for a game but $0.10/$0.20 is really the lowest I'll go ;)

The download keeps bombing out after a couple of megs though :( Crap weather here.

EDIT: My favourite is 18 man tourneys with 3 tables of 6. If I play drop in games it's fixed limit but play no limit in tourneys.

Non-poker related but I've gotten into Backgammon lately. It can be a fun 2-player gambling game. I'm still a beginner at it but enjoying learning. :)

I play poker too. on-line sometimes but prefer RL

real money, but low amounts, just social really.

I realise now that I may have sat at a table in a on-line tournement with a poster from this very thread!

For me its all about bragging rights amongst friends.
