no, Too much people are being busted for possesion, thus equaling brutality. if you get charged once, expect to be the cop's B_T_H's for the rest of your life
Not every arrest made by police is an example of police brutality. They're enforcing the law. Agreeing or disagreeing with the law is a whole other issue.

EDIT: Darn Mowque said it first.

why is that law there, Mowque ? answer that, then realize your tax dollars are feeding pigs.

I've Asked why people think Marijuana is bad, they said: It's illegal. i ask, why is it illegal? Not one person has come up with a legitamite answer.

So, whenever someone gets charged for holding a peice of plant, thats an act of brutality because that person doesn't deserve the charge or fine

pig- one who consumes, but doesn't contribute

on cops, a guy got a 2000$ fine for possesing 1 gram.

The anti-weed law? Cause people think (unlike you, shocker!) it is bad for scoietey. And police are there to enforce the law. Don't like it? That's ok, but don't call it brutality.

And pigs contribute alot, i like bacon ;) (parasite might be a better term for you to use.)

Brutality isn't an issue, but constant pestering is. The problem is, that Munich has loads of policemen but hardly any crime. This results in squads of 8-10 policemen hiding in the pedestrian zone and jumping out at any cyclist who dare to drive at more than walking speed.

I wish we had your problem of TOO much police lol.. here in the US..we got lots of crime and not enough police though here

In my city? Yes, it is. But the general consensus here is that without them, this city would be so much worse. The NOPD are incompetent in many things, but they regulate traffic nicely and they aren't afraid of doing kill shots preemptively. (not many people care because it's always against gang members with guns). They're essentially just on the look out for people who look shady, even if the people are 100% clean. But I don't recall any LA style beatings to be honest.

that still doesn't answer the question, einstein. You Haven' come up with any reason as to why it's illegal.

It answers the question perfectly! The anti-weed law is there because some people think it's bad for society. You just say that because it's not the massive government conspiracy answer you want.

Shall i be more persice? No problem. We (as a society) have decided that having free access to weed is bad. Health, culture, tradition, morals are all reasons. (Note- i am not saying it is RIGHT, but that it is the law, and it was legally passed and is legally challenged on a regular basis)

I'm flattered by the compliment to great men of the past btw.

Thanks for saying, SOME PEOPLE!, NOT ALL OVER HALF THE POP SMOKES ANYWAYS.

Spoiler :
1937: Hemp banned. Only an estimated 60,000 Americans smoke “marijuana,” but thanks to Hearst and Anslinger’s disinformation campaign, virtually everyone in the country has heard of it.

1945: Newsweek reports that over 100,000 people now smoke marijuana.

1967: Millions of Americans regularly and openly smoke hemp leaves and flowers.

1977:Tens of millions smoke cannabis regularly, with many people growing their own.

2007: One in three Americans, approximately 100+ million citizens, have now tried it at least once, and some 10-20% (25 to 50 million Americans) still choose to buy and smoke cannabis regularly, despite urine tests and tougher laws.

Throughout history, Americans have held the legal tradition that one could not give up one’s constitutional rights—and if someone was stripped of these protections, then he or she was being victimized. However, by 1989, if you signed up for an extracurricular activity in school or applied for a minimum wage job, you could be asked to forego your right to privacy, protection from self-incrimination, Constitutional requirements of reasonable grounds for search and seizure, presumed innocence until found guilty by your peers, and that most fundamental right of all: personal responsibility for your own life and consciousness.

By 1995, the U. S. Supreme Court upheld that these intrusions into your individual privacy were constitutional!

In November 1996, as earlier stated, California passed a statewide people’s initiative that won by 56% of the vote and legalized medical marijuana within the state. Also in November 1996, Arizona passed a statewide initiative (by 65% of the vote) that included medical marijuana but, unlike California law, Arizona’s legislature and the governor (now impeached) can and have since rejected this people’s law. This was the first rejection by the legislature and the governor of any Arizona state initiative in 90 years!

.

So all of a sudden, the tables turn... 56% VOTED FOR LEGALIZATION IN CALFORNIA ! that leaves 46% of the population saying no.
OK, so some people thinks it wrong, think again

I'm not trying to say the law is good or bad, but you can't call it police brutality.

Yeah, well 52% of the same Californians voted against gay marriage. Is that any justice?

Maybe instead of smoking your stupid drugs, you should go to Math class. A little English would be nice too. And if this is any proof of the effects of drugs, then I guess BasketCase can add "decreases logic" to his signature.

This thread is ironic considering what happened in my home town a few weeks ago

Vancouver Sun

and this a few months ago:

There's not a lot of love for both the VPD and RCMP in BC right now.
that said i have never personally met any ornery or unfriendly police officer.

Ah, so if you break the law the cops bust you? Cry me a river buddy. My taxes are going towards them TO do things like that.

You prefer your taxes to go to incarcerating pot heads? Rather than say, updating school books, or being used for toilet paper or anything else more useful?

The question was if the police are doing their jobs, NOT if it was right or wrong.

Here in the Bay Area we are experts on Police corruption and brutality. Only LA might have us beat. Or NY circa 1980.
