And afaik, the devs are at least aware of Dunevo being a problem and possibly costing them sales, while the hotseat situation seems to be possibly resolved (though considering how much they flopped it in 5 I don't have high hopes).
Did they say something new about hotseat?

1/10. I feel like if I go into depth that I’ll start an argument, so I’ll keep it brief.

Civ has moved so far away from what I enjoyed in Civs 2-4. 4 was the last game in the franchise that I actually felt like I was building an actual civilisation - a sprawling empire rather than a collection of loosely connected cities. It’s my favourite game of all time and I could not even guess how many hours that I have put into it since 2005, but it dwarfs any other game that I have ever played. The almost unlimited moddability has further stretched out the game’s lifespan for me. Despite that, after nearly 20 years I would really love a new civ game to enjoy and I’m sad that I will never get it.

To be fair, no version of Civ (or Col for that matter) has had the feel of running an empire like Imperialism 1/2 or CTP 1/2 do. Civ has always felt like a group of city-states.

I remember reading I think that they said why Hotseat was not there but that they would probably look into it once the game released, so similiar to what happened with 5.
I see, I may have missed that, but in any case it isn't unexpected. You said 5, but iirc the same was the case with 6, didn't come out with hotseat but was implemented later.

I just want to record a moment where votes for 8+ are exactly 50%. Let's see where it go from here.

As I understand, FXS uncovered features which cause biggest backlash early to make the game reception better by the time of release. So my prediction is to see slow improvement soon.

Or it may just be due to the fact, that people who dislike what have they have been presented so far, do not care about this game anymore and are therefore also not participating in these kinds of polls.

I mean, there are quite a few people here who hang around to almost exclusively voice their displeasure with the game.

So far it didn't work like this. Actually:
1. People who like the game came first and left really high votes.
2. Afterwards, people who are not invested that much in the game came and left a lot of lower scores.
3. Later some unpleasant news came (the number of civs appeared lower than expected) and some people changed their votes.

So, I don't see what people who like the game could somehow improve results - their votes are already in. We either see some new people (and those are surely not fans if they didn't vote for a month) or people who already voted, change their score.

I do not think so. If you are registered at the Civ Fanatics Forum, you are probably a long time fan of the series. I do not think anyone hangs around here to "exclusively" trash the game. Dissapointed or frustrated maybe, but that doesn't mean that their are opinions count less than others. And that some people who dislike Civ Swichting etc. probably do not participate that much here anymore, is also pretty obvious to me.

Being a fan of a game in the series doesn't have anything to do with what I said though.

There are multiple users who registered in the last 2 months or so and you check their post history and it's exclusively negative comments.

And then there are posters like you who've been registered for a longer time, who clearly don't like the direction Civ 7 is heading, but you're still here pretty actively to voice your opinion that you don't like it.

So my point was that I think your logic of "People who don't like the game aren't active here, so their opinions aren't being reflected in polls like this" is incorrect.

I don't think that's the case. We constantly see a lot of people who continue complaining on the forum.

That's exactly the reason. People here are fans of the series. Some of them like changes, some don't, but neither of them leave the forum because of this.

Agreed, that makes sense to me! So let's see, how many new votes come here going forward, that's also an indication, how much enthusiasm is out there for this game overall.

Not the forum, but the Civ 7 section. Just look who particpates in the Civ 4 or Civ 5 threads, and do not show up in this section at all.
