[NFP] Portugal (March 2021) - Patch Notes Discussion

Hey does anyone know if Portugal gets +1 trade route if it, or another player, liberates a civ that was previously already defeated? As a result, will liberation/revival count as Portugal "meeting" the civ?

I think I heard Sean say Zholao :p
Zaarin confirmed it. Ah, dear me... It's worse than Sarah's, no offense meant to either, which is an achievement on its own.

I think this is a yes. If Portugal meets a civ and it gets killed later, they won't lose a trade route. If a civ dies before Portugal meets it but gets revived later, they should get 1 trade route.

  • AI’s value of tech will be limited by the number of units it can build.
I'm not native English speaker so I don't get what this means, could someone help.

Also, Portugal has some of the strangest alt colors.

I'm guessing that if an AI doesn't have any niter it would work towards unlocking Musketmen and Bombards but it's not really clear.

People that like to dig into the game files, can you see if and how they changed the tourism from monopolies formula?

For some reason, I like those colors.

They're not bad but I'm kind of wondering how Firaxis came up with those colors in particular. The only others like that I can think of are the radioactive greens that Kongo and Arabia share as well as Kongo's mint chocolate chip ones.

I've heard of Portuguese as a language being described as "drunk Spanish" but both Sarah and Mr. Bean pronounce anything Portuguese like they're actually trying to speak drunk Spanish while sober.

Seriously...what was shoo-lao?

Anyways...just some thought as I restart for 2 hours trying to get the perfect start to build wonders lol

My guess is that, for example, if an AI is on a small island and therefore cannot build many land units versus ships, it will prioritize researching naval technologies first. But that's just a guess.

You mean a theory. A GAME THEORY!!
