Poser 6 For Only $30!!

I don't believe that there's much difference between 5 and 6 as far as unit-making goes, but 6 has features (specifically, the Hair Room) that make it much better for LH-making. Also, I believe that Apollo Maximus only works with Poser 6 and 7, and that figure seems to me the best for LHs. He's also good for non-standard units where the Paperdoll isn't suitable (for example, Monster Zombies).

Anyway, this is a great deal that anyone who wants to make their own graphics for Civ III (or indeed other things) should think about seriously.

As for the Vista thing, I understand that Poser 6 will work with Vista if you run it in compatibility mode. You may also need to turn down 3D acceleration - I had to do this to get it to work with XP. It depends on your graphics card and drivers. But it sounds like some people have had problems and others haven't, which presumably is why they say Vista isn't supported (rather than anything more definite). Poser is a pretty clunky program at the best of times. There's discussion about this here and you can search elsewhere online for information and advice.
 
Poser 5 was offered free before as part of a promotion to get people to upgrade to the latest version. I am sure the reduced price on version 6 is to try to get people to upgrade to poser 7.
 
No doubt very true, however, if civ units can be made with version 6, then one could just as easily stay with Poser 6 and never upgrade. One would still have all the tools necessary to make units. And if you really want to upgrade, maybe wait until a similar offer is made with Poser 7 when Poser 8 comes out. :)

I wouldn't know if she's hot, and besides, she's a student at the University of Duluth (long ways from here, much less "Brew City"). Currently she's got this thing about piercings (lip and tongue, the dentist was pissed about that) and tattoos (she got hers a few days before I got mine).

I may be confusing you with someone else, but aren't you married (but I suppose as long as the wife doesn't find out you're "checking the market")?

Rudimentary my dear Watson. I purchased Poser 6 through this offer, and Gary is trying to draw me into unit making. I said I'd try, but I'd give BadKharma such a headache trying to answer all my questions via PM, that he'd just say "Hell with it" and drive the 2 hours to my house to help in person.

Him doing this hinged on whether or not I had a hot sister (I'm not answering that question for obvious reasons, but I proceeded to give him more details anyways).
